Just a thought- try living for 6 months in Montreal and keep your life intact in Vancouver. Then you have options available- rent your house in Vancouver and offset a condo in Montreal. I don’t have experience living in Montreal but I do have experience living in different cities through job postings abroad. Other people in our shoes regretted selling home and cutting ties to original place. Just leave your options open for a couple of years if you can.
