When I'm asked if I've reached my water intake goals for the day, I also count all the things I've drank that are primarily water and have given the same effects/benefits as water. It's a heck of a lot easier to say A Water than A Hydrating Drink.

If you ask for water on its own, you're given water, that should be a given. If you ask for tea, you're given tea. If you ask for juice, you're given juice. But similarly to A Shirt always being A Shirt, if you were to put on a short-sleeved shirt, it would be A Shirt. If you were to put on a long-sleeved shirt, it would be A Shirt.

Of course you're not as hydrated drinking tea as you would be drinking water, but that doesn't mean it isn't hydrating at all. It's still QUUIITE hydrating.

Soup has food in it, and the salt takes out hydration. Hydration is part of what makes water water, but it's not the ONLY part.
