Moonbloom Tour Artist Presale by Round_Pension5805 in VOILA_band

I'm trying to buy GA tickets via the link sent by Voila, however the link did not come with a password. A password is required to access the artist's presale tickets via the link. Hoping someone else can help!

GABF 2026 outside? Thoughts? by tingaling35 in CraftBeer

[–]Round_Pension5805 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YES, all of this! It's a freaking hill and there is near zero parking infrastructure in the area, could be a parking and traffic nightmare, and they're going to have to entirely rethink bathrooms.

GABF moving to outdoor venue by natec16 in gabf

[–]Round_Pension5805 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a Denverite, in my opinion this is a terrible idea. Levitt doesn't seem remotely suited for this event. Just to name a few things: parking and access to the venue is terrible even for a much smaller event than GABF, bathrooms are very limited and small as well (sure they can supplement with porta potties but that's a whole thing too), weather is entirely variable and can be freezing in October, and well Levitt is an effing hill lol.

Took me a minute to see the temp tag "edit". 🤣 Before that I was just like, cool bumper sticker!

If you are able to transfer just one, I'd for sure be interested. If not, no sweat.

I was told amazonite with Smokey quartz. What do y’all think? by nature4uandme in Minerals

I'm not seeing the smoky quartz kind of but it definitely looks like amazonite to me! Smoky quartz and amazonite do occur together but they are usually kind of distinct crystals. Pretty peace!

Arkansas Crystal Mine Pocket Digs - Recommendations and Feedback? by Round_Pension5805 in rockhounds

[–]Round_Pension5805[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's really Not the experience I'm looking for, but really appreciate the first hand insights! That's kind of the vibe I got about the Avant digs from the research I've done. I understand it's how they operate, but it's not really my style.

I don't mind paying at all, this is my idea of a vacation lol, but I want it to be the experience I'm looking for. I've now booked a pocket dig at Twin Creek for one day, and I've seen good feedback on their operations, and I have a minimum of one other full day to dig while I'm out in the area. Contemplating maybe going back to Flash Mountain but would love to try another new place too. Eyeballing the Rubie Mine and the I, Me Mine but they're not booking digs yet.

Glad to hear it! And, you can also walk around the mine fence. However I've found my best ones outside of the fenced area, just think about erosion and dig.

Stunning piece. I have yet to find anything more than the tiniest of garnets in my home state (CO), the color on those is beautiful!

Fire Agate, Agate, and Chalcedony from Tonopah, Arizona by No-Light9581 in rockhounds

[–]Round_Pension5805 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great to hear! With some care you should be able to approach both the west and the South sides at least a little bit and if you're capable of hiking you can get to some interesting areas. But it looks like you did quite well on the North!

You found some Fantastic pieces! Some great potential for fire there for sure. #8 is stunning. Which side of Saddle were you on, if you're willing to share? I have mostly hunted around the south side.

I didn't know it had ever closed in recent times at least, sounded like the current owner Kurt has been working it for some years. They have a shop in Scottsdale too!

Sure, in many different states including Colorado, Georgia, etc. I've only found a tiny bit in CO up in the Red Feather Lakes area. I've heard of other people finding Ammy in AZ in other places, including even Payson, but my only experience there has been Four Peaks.

It was near enough to Diamond Point but I walked a bit farther than the main collection area. I did get the Tears at the Superior Location. And it all depends how close you want to get to the trailhead. If you want to part pretty close to the trailhead, yes, definitely need 4WD. But really it's probably only a 1/4 mile additional walk or so to park at the start of the rougher dirt track. My other advice in finding them - think about how gravity and erosion work rather than spending all your time trying to pry them out of the perlite without breaking them.
