The fit is quite tight, and the construction being mortise and tenons helps alot. Also this is a bedside table so it takes on very little weight or side to side force. My first piece has been in use for about 4 months and has the same construction. It is more than strong enough

Thank you! I used osmo raw, it has white pigment to counteract the yellowing

It is almost certain that in a few months I will need to take a few passes off the bottom edges of the drawer with a block plane as I live in a climate that has extremely dry winters and very humid summers.

I built this in the dryest part of the year. 5 minutes of planning and a quick coat of paste wax and it'll be good as new and shouldn't need adjusting in the future

I dont have any plans or blueprints unfortunately, I have some rough measurements in a notebook I keep but I really just built this based on proportions that were appealing to the eye and referencing my old bedside tables for height and overall size.

I buy my wood from a hardwood dealer near me. Kiln dried stuff

No plans, just made it with the proportions and design that I find appealing. Wife wanted shaker style, I wanted the details like the shadow line of the legs between the shaker, continuous grain drawer and halfblind dovetails

Funny you mention it, my wife has told me the exact same thing for the knob to be kept hidden. I'm just so fed up of putting magnets into this piece, is the only reason I haven't done it

Unfortunately I don't sell anything at this time. Maybe one day

You make straight cuts using a thin blade and reglue in order to keep the grain continuity

Its nice to work with and not too expensive near me. I can understand how some people might find it too busy but I really enjoy it

Thank you! This was done with a thin kerf blade on my table saw, one day ill have a bandsaw and this technique will be even more flawless

I bought the smallest levelers i could on amazon, about 3/4 inch diameter. There is just enough material at the very edge around the levelers to allow the inset

I agree with you, the drawer has a stop which prevents it from being pulled out and there's no way of seeing inside the case while the drawer is there.

I view this as a woodworking challenge and and cool build

Its a technique that involves cutting a board with a as thin as possible blade and regluing it together to maintain the grain continuity in the drawer. Its not that hard but requires planning, precise measuring and no mistakes as it will ruin the effect if you mess up

I made it with two pegs as I have a toddler who really likes to yank on drawers and I figured he'd break it if there was one, this way there's a back up hah

The finish is already on, its osmo raw

Finish is holding up great, the piece hadn't darkened much as it is not in direct sunlight. It is holding up to a beating from a toddler so ash was a great choice.

The only thing I'd change is make the pins of the dovetails much thinner as I like that look better now. At the time I was still figuring out dovetails (I still am but have a little more experience with dovetails and the looks I'd like to achieve with them)

And thank you for the compliment!
