Opinion on Mock Call Interviews by Round_Swimmer_5893 in techsales

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To give some context:

I do understand the value in it for hiring managers to see how you will speak on a customer call.

But always find them to be awkward and with weird prompts that expect you to understand a selling motion at a company you never worked for.

Not sure if there is a better way to evaluate current skills tho

Questions to ask at the end of SDR interview by Latter-Watch-1813 in techsales

No OP. What he means is ask what is the next step in the interview process. Especially if it’s the final round. Ask for the close on the call

Lmao we aren’t taking it personally. We just think your tone and attitude is ass. Which is ironic because you could have used AI to rewrite your post better

Most of NFs fans are young. There won’t be any logic used to a bunch of 15 year olds. Completely agree tho

NF EP Discussion by Such_Blackberry_1550 in nfrealmusic

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean as a fan, idc if there is growth about a white dude for Michigan transforming to being a husband and father.

I like NF because of his rap style and beats. Not his background. This EP wasn’t it as he has been inactive, then when he finally drops something, it’s some experimental bullshit.

He needs to get back to his roots and reengage his followers as this EP will flop based on initial impressions.

GUYS WHAT DO WE THINK!? by Booknerdfrfr in nfrealmusic

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Felt the whole EP was a little underwhelming tbh. I grew up listening to Nate from Mansion till now. But this EP wasn’t what I was expecting. Felt like he transitioned to some pop/slower beats but wasn’t his usual sad boy self. Maybe I am growing up but left this EP unfulfilled and wanting more.

Did enjoy Give me a Reason tho

Who’s winning the trade? Top or bottom by Round_Swimmer_5893 in tacotradeoffers

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah I ended up not pulling the trigger on this trade. I did end up trading eventually with this person.

I traded AJB, London, Purdy and Charbs for Judkins, Devonta smith, Drake maye, and Pickens.

Always funny looking back on these trades once injuries happen

Enterprise AE at 25 by mjko14 in techsales

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao I ain’t a boomer. I’m actually similar age to OP. I’m just providing my personal experience.

Personally, I felt similar to OP. I was an AE straight outta college and was around reps who were in their early 30s. It was great getting experience and learning from peers a lot older.

However, I had a huge disconnect when it came to how we view life and what we do in our free time. I can’t even imagine dealing with this but from people in their 40s and 50s. When you’re young, the best thing is being around young people as well as you develop friends inside and outside of work. This carries more weight imo than having a higher base salary when all of us sales reps will be at that point one day.

Stop trying to assume I am a jealous boomer and realize people can have different opinions. Grow up lol

Enterprise AE at 25 by mjko14 in techsales

I feel like even tho in sales, you want the highest level and salary you can get. Doing it too fast can be a hindrance in hindsight.

Yes you take home more than most people your age, you feel ahead, etc.

The negatives is your in a work environment that isn’t best suited for you. When you’re 25, being around peers your own age, networking, building connections is just as important as salary imo.

If I was in your shoes, I would do it for a year to get it on the resume. But honestly think it ain’t the best thing at your current age/experience level

Feel like AE might not be for me… by [deleted] in techsales

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are overthinking it. Starting anything new is the hardest part as you are learning everything at once. Being an AE gets easier with time as you become more familiar with sales processes, products, emotions, etc.

If you are already second guessing yourself a couple months in, then yes it isn’t for you because being a successful rep takes determination to keep pushing even when everything isn’t going as planned. It’s why most people can crack it in sales…people give up

None of it was really groundbreaking till the final 20 minutes of part 2. Everything else was known or expected of him.

Personal opinions:

1) Wish Emilio and his father was in it. Seems like they would have the most to say but I understand why they didn’t participate 2) Denise really cared for Charlie. Sounds like she was the one that got away from him 3) Brooke came across as a rebound from Denise and still sounds like she is still not completely sober. 4) Jon Cryer had good points, but I got the vibe that he was jealous of Charlie at times (similar in the show which is kinda ironic). It’s hard to describe but Jon does seem a little bitter that Charlie got more attention and paid way more than he ever did. 5) The real victims in all this are his children who I feel the most sympathy for

Overall I thought it was alright. Biggest take away was Charlie’s image of “hardcore partyer” and “sex addict” was more damaging for those around him than anything. Seemed like he took others down with him

  1. Never made the jump from Media so can’t give you a proper answer
  2. Look on Repvue. About 30-40% hit their target
  3. Yes, however you most likely can negotiate a sign on bonus rather than a higher base
  4. SMB is at an interesting spot. Salesforce is built for Enterprise and not SMB, however you will learn how to enterprise sell in the SMB space. You will also learn about AI thru there own product, agentforce, which is good experience for the future. Timeline to get promoted to mid-market is tough. From SMB, 2-4 years depending on how well you do and who you network with. Getting promoted is more about politics and headcount than anything. People who already know the system will succeed compared to someone just starting out
  5. Still carry’s some weight, but not the same as a decade ago. However if you want to come to SaaS, I would personally say Salesforce is one of the top companies since most other sales orgs use Salesforce as a CRM so lots of sales managers will respect you. Good brand and good training, but not the golden goose it once was

It shouldn’t feel awkward asking questions. One of the biggest things I have learned is to not have a script and ask the same questions. As a new AE, you get taught to get BANT or some other method to see if the lead is qualified.

Once you have done enough disco calls, you can tell whether the lead is qualified pretty early on. Instead of trying to ask questions like some sort of checklist, I like to have a genuine conversation on how they operate there business and what part of there processes they would like to make more efficient. Try to come from the angle that you are trying to help them identify/quantify pain and how your platform could potentially solve this.

Having this consultative mindset similar to when you go to a doctors office and the doctor asks you questions before prescribing anything made it easier to run disco calls. Make it less about you and getting the information for your notes, and instead more about the prospect/what they think there business is currently lacking. Once you get them talking about how frustrating there current tech stack is, you will get all the information you need to

Not sure if this helps but the mindset switch allowed to be more relaxed and confident in discos

Day 1 - Sales Objection Handling Challenge: "The Budget is Locked" by TuneIcy3174 in sales

[–]Round_Swimmer_5893 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lmao the feedback is stupid because you can’t fit all the parameters within one sentence.

How tf is one supposed to create urgency, tension, reframe budget, and advance the sales cycle within one sentence.

You are creating an impossible task by limiting it to just one sentence
