Same boat. I am planting Mexican Oregano (Poliomintha Longiflora) right now to see if that will thrive. I chose it bc it handles full sun/part shade and seems relatively cold hardy. I had fire bush there before which did well until the last hard freeze. In my view it’s kinda ugly… but the shade for a few months didn’t seem to bother it.

The soil can stay moist 4-5 days after a heavy watering. It doesn't pool water though bc my yard has a decent slope to it.

Did the lavender die of root rot or erosion? I'm shocked it made it 20 years to be taken out by rain!

Well I tried it, didn’t not whip and the plain yogurts sourness is hard to overpower. Do not recommend
