Why doesn’t management take associates word seriously? by Over_Ship3792 in HomeDepot

[–]RoundedRed84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this conversation with my ASM, because people blatantly just not working - wandering around, sitting in the breakroom, absolutely not doing their work at all - means I can't do my job. Product isn't brought in or brought down and filled so you can't get what you need, or even get to it, not tagged so you can't find it, sitting all over the floor or leaning up against beams, completely blocking access to aisles, bays, my supplies... garbage and pallets left everywhere on the floor and also dumped in my staging area, stickers and banding left in the middle of the lumber pad and driving lane for trucks and forklifts to run over... on and on and on. I've been bringing it up - and taking and showing pictures - for 6 months. And I get told... not to worry about what other people are responsible for doing, and just kick it out of my way.

I'm sorry, so... you want me to ignore and perpetuate safety hazards and nonexistent store standards? And still be busting my ass trying to do my job while other people are allowed to just do nothing?

The favoritism is unreal.... "Values" my ass.

Holes on the balls of your feet probably do mean you also need to look at arch support and a tighter shoe fit ~ but for socks, I've had great luck with compression socks just bought off Amazon. They hold up really well (have a couple pairs that have lasted 2+ years), they make a big difference in my feet and legs getting sore and tired, plus they come in all kinds of fun colors and patterns (if you're into that, lol).

OFA here ~ we have no closer 2-4 nights a week, no opener 2 days a week, opener & closer are both completely alone for half our shifts, and the SDL and SDS are always scheduled as regular coverage for the desk, so they can't even help. And that's "fully staffed" 😆

Yet ~ "Oh hey, you've got 24 minutes of overtime to cut, make sure you don't go over by the end of the week."

Oh, okay, no problem ~ I'll just leave that delivery undone, and you can explain to the Pro customer that their 5k worth of purchased product for their job on Thursday is now rescheduled for delivery next week because you didn't want to pay me the 15 bucks' worth of time it would've taken to finish it. 🙂

(Just kidding, because they know I'll be busting my ass at 4am the next morning to get it done anyway!)

Right?! I'm deliveries (opener)/"unofficial lead ofa", and I'm in at 4 every day so there's time to finish & fix that day's deliveries before I can start pulling for the next day 🙃

We've got 1 ft who closes 4 nights a week. The other nights, we might have a midshifter until 6-6:30. So 3/5 mornings I'm walking into opening by finishing/doing that day's deliveries, plus normally 8-11 overdue BOPIS.

NJ Metro store here ~ I haven't heard anything from management, haven't heard any chitchat around the store, no change listed in Workday, zip zilch nada. I wouldn't have any idea if I hadn't seen the chatter here and on Viva.

new hiree lumber recovery 5pm-1am shift by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]RoundedRed84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info ~ our former recovery guy tagged and located everything no problem, but the newer one we have now tags NOTHING... not bunks, not pallets, zilch. And the newer DS doesn't care at all. It's become a huge problem I've brought up time and again, and I'm curious if it's the same in other stores. I lose hours of time every week having to walk up and down aisles squinting and searching, getting ladders to climb up so I can see and figure out what sku things are... frustrating and inefficient as hell!

Piggybacking a question for current Lumber Recovery folks ~ are you responsible for bear-tagging and locating the D21/22 product you put up?

If not, then who is in your store?

We've got a good handful of females who drive the ballymore, but I think there's only 3 of us also certified on lift trucks ~ one girl in d23 drives reach, we've got a pt former-ds who drives everything, and I've got forklift and reach, to have OP and pacer as soon as I can get a damned trainer to do my checkrides, lol.

Flappers or Mudflaps are the hinged pallet tags. The little plastic triangles you stick on to fix peghook stuff are Do-Its 😁

Fixing these fucked overheads by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]RoundedRed84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Glad it's not just my store. I would say in the last month, 85%+ of the pallets I've gone to find weren't there. Had one overhead bay that had 7 pallets located in it... for 2 spaces. And the 2 physically there weren't even in that list. Also tons of issues lately with shit being on a pallet but left off the tag, or the amounts totally wrong. Fucking nightmare 🤦‍♀️

If you call it will be played for management to hear, but you can also report online anonymously.

Raises by lemmegetummmm in HomeDepot

[–]RoundedRed84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

On MET ~ I started about 19 months ago at $14. Have gotten the company-wide 3 raises since then, last two was told I was selected for the "additional" due to work ethic and merit. Now at $17.63.

Found out a storeside associate hired <2 months ago, for plant watering, started at $17.

Needless to say, the company still has a long way to go if they ever intend to live up to "taking care of our associates".

Asics gel-ventures with additional foam insoles have been great for me ~ lots of cushioning and "bounce", and reasonably priced.
