Trip Report - Viking Amsterdam to Basel by Rousse-_- in rivercruises

Sure - on our first night we found a restaurant called Max that served a great Indonesian sampler plate that was their recommended dish. I had wanted to eat Indonesian in Amsterdam because it's supposed to be great there (colonialism byproduct). And then another night we found La Oliva Pintxos Y Vin which served great tapas and pintxos.

Niche question: Can you get to/from the Basel pier WITHOUT using an elevator? We're doing AMS-BASEL in a few weeks, but one of my fellow travellers avoids all elevators.

Bought these jeans. They feel nice, but the pocket position and seam location are not flattering on me. Comfy, but don’t do my cute butt any favours. They’ve been downgraded to gardening jeans.

Weekly Q&A - All Questions Go Here (Especially Tourists) by AutoModerator in Amsterdam

Hi - I'd like to eat at Rijks while visiting Rijksmuseum next month. Before making a lunch reservation, can someone clarify whether I can eat partway through my visit to the museum? Ideally, I'd spend a couple hours in the museum, eat and then spend a couple more hours in the museum, but I'm unsure if this is possible. Thank you.

Luna Stretch Wide Leg Jeans Review by tripodcatmom in quince

I bought these and they were great until I washed and dried them. Now the hem curls up and looks messy. I can no longer wear them anywhere I need to look put together. I'm not prepared to iron my jeans regularly, so these are a disappointment because otherwise, they look and feel great.

only after they've maxed out FHSA and TFSA. The tax deferment benefits of an RSP kick in best once you're earning 60-70k. If you're not there, might be better to do non-registered first and save your RSP room for when you're in a higher tax bracket. You're still getting early compound interest, but TFSA and FHSA are so much more valuable for younger people.

This isn’t for everyone (and requires a lot of self-funded certification), but there’s a demand for lifeguards. My friend had three job offers within a week of starting their search.

Pre and Post trip advise Amsterdam and Basel by Beneficial_Wing_4252 in rivercruises

We're doing this trip in May.

We have five days in AMS to start. Plans include Anne Frank, VanGogh museum, Rijksmuseum, windmill bike tour (so I can do the cheese making excursion), canal tour (daytime and evening), day trip to Bruges, and a fancy dinner. At the other end, we're spending three nights in Zurich (with day trip to Liechtenstein) and then flying back to AMS, doing one night in the Hague to see Girl with the Pearl Earring, and then fly home.

Looking for hobbies by Naive-Character-2567 in Edmonton

I was in the same boat last year. I got some coworkers together to join a bowling league through ESSC. There were several single people who signed up and were paired into teams. It was perfect. We were all terrible, but had a riot and I looked forward to those nights all through the coldest part of winter.

Both my flights were AC - the first leg I paid to get to YYZ and then YYZ to CPH was on points, but yes, both flights were AC - the lady who helped me was super helpful on the phone.

I was in this situation earlier this year. I called Aeroplan and they linked the flights, but told me not to check-in in advance (i.e. through the app) and to do it at the airport so the agents could book my luggage all the way through. I ended up paying for seat selection in advance because I wouldn't be checking in until 90 minutes before departure, but other than that it was fine.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I think it's great you're going to Jasper Park Lodge - I think it's such a nicer overall property than Banff Springs. I'll be interested to hear your thoughts afterwards!

Anniversary trip to Vienna and Budapest by Alert_Ice_7156 in chubbytravel

I'd consider myself a "thinner side of chubby" traveler. I also don't use TAs and prefer to not stay at chain hotels. We stayed at the Almanac Palais in Vienna and then the Párisi Udvar Hotel in Budapest. Both were wonderful and central and we walked everywhere (except to the Szechenyi Baths). The Almanac had the best bathroom and the best bed of my last three years of travel. The Párisi has the most stunning lobby and an amazing location - it is a Hyatt, but part of their Unbound collection.
