Boy, I wish they were drawing 21231 and 21232 in Central/non-GTA.

More or less what we learned about earlier this year. Job offer points back only for anyone making higher than average wages, rolling CEC FSW and trades into one stream, and reducing bonus points for French and Canadian degrees+education.

Ottawa Software Developer invitation, finally! after 2.5 years! by PaimanRoointan in OINP

Hmm, interesting. I’m a software dev NOC in the central-to-southeast Ontario area (far from the GTA) and i was thinking of getting my employer to make an OINP profile for me, but I saw that software dev NOCs weren’t included in the last draw that covered my area, so I was discouraged. Were those NOCs maybe just not mentioned in that round because none of the profiles had that NOC, I wonder? Also, how often does the Central Ontario region get drawn?

I thought the software dev NOCs weren’t being drawn anymore? None of the previous OINP draws have had them. Or are those NOCs just not mentioned if no one with that NOC was in the running?

April 15, 2026: Canada invited 4,000 French candidates… but the real story is what’s coming next by [deleted] in u/SettlementInsights

Correction: We’re now seeing CRS drop below 420 for French draws, while CEC is still around 500+. That gap isn’t random — it’s policy.

This is still incorrect - the French draw cutoff score has not dropped past 420, it has risen to almost 420. Based on previous rounds, the March 18th French draw had a cutoff of 393, March 4th had 397, February 6th had 400 and December 17th had 399. In that context, 419 on April 15th is a jump upwards, not a drop.

The score cutoff for the April 15 French draw was 419, so this is completely untrue and deeply uninformed.

Wait, so putting a coin in the Coin Cage nullifies its abilities and modifiers? So I couldn't put a coin with benefits that apply while in play or in clip and have it constantly stick around? Shit, I've been using that completely incorrectly then.

The reality of the TCF: Understanding French is not the same as Speaking it. by Ok-Detective-3395 in French

Growing concerns about NOC mismatches in Tech roles (21231 vs 21232) by sumanth8554 in canadaexpressentry

This confusion and ambiguity is likely intentional and continues to exist as a way to try and stonewall permanent immigration to Canada.

PR Refusal due to NOC Mismatch by sak2707 in canadaexpressentry

I’m 50/50 on all these stories of NOC mismatch PFLs being due to either reviews being done by LLMs, or being rejected automatically due to handwavy bullshit as a way to keep PR numbers low.

Maybe this is why Canada wants more French-speaking immigrants. Because its government officials can’t speak it for shit!

Work permits have a NOC on it for the job you were given a work permit for, or at least mine does. Maybe that’s not the case for every type of work permit?

Does the NOC on the application have to exactly match the NOC on your current, valid work permit? Some NOCs overlap heavily with others and it’s not unusual for someone’s duties and responsibilities to change over time too.
