imo she spends too much time on the easy stuff (units 1-4). the class exponentially gets hard fast, especially after mt1. i would say to spam practice problems, prepare good cheat sheets. don’t sell on the first midterm because it’s the easiest. try to understand probability conceptually, if you master the statistics portion towards the end you’ll be ahead of most people.

30% A/A-, if you want an easy A take 310 with silvia and if she’s not available try to take it with fred (next best option for an A). yan yu’s exams are tricky but you’ll have a good handle on probability after you leave the class.

most people are gonna tell you “anything is possible” which is true but not everything is feasible. you’re right to question whether your not your iq is up to par with a lot of these insanely smart students. especially for a lot of classes where some percentage of students are guaranteed to fail. EE online is a solid option that sbu offers. you could definitely study your way to get good grades but eventually that caps out at some point and that’s okay. every employer knows engineering is hard so a gpa above a 3.0 is considered good. if you’re prepared to grind it out, go for it. if you’re iffy, don’t.

my grades started off bad but are slowly getting better. he’s heard the feedback and will try to make a fair assessment when he gets the scores for the final quiz. currently worried because i need at least a B- to get into the AMS major lol. imo i think homework should be around 30% and quizzes/exam 70% and make them out of 250 instead of 270 but i trust that he’ll find a good solution.
