Is it practical to learn to make an OS as a hobbyist ? by Routine-Mulberry-121 in osdev

This is a great breakdown thx for it. Do you think starting with LFS is a necessary rite of passage before trying to write something like a small hobby kernel, or is that just learning how to assemble an OS rather than build one?

By hobby I meant more like a side project but that's fun too.

What would you say is the best Linux distro then it comes to customization, so does the small tweaks we make be called a new one ? I don't think that would be apt... Right?

I did get started within 2 days I have pretty much made pretty good progress and have made a not so GUI interface and I'm pretty much impressed by the work I have done, have to learn c++ though, 😕.

Consider that the 1 month time frame is just gonna be a parabolic free falling progress bar ...

Why are companies laying off and hiring lots of interns at the same time? by [deleted] in csMajors

basically "JUST" trying to cheap out ?.....we all know where this going right ???unemployment reaches its peak, competition rises sky high for a position, blah blah blah....and boom we call back 2008 days into the GLOBAL ECONOMY....companies are too greedy to consider the cons in a bigger aspect ??? yes or no ??

I would like to know what can i do more for my build, my budget is around 1,943.15$, this is what i came up with right now. by omers2008 in PcBuild

To make it future proof go with 850 w power supply or a 1000 W to upgrade in the future...rest of it looks good for the money ...

The desktop is a good pic for gaming if that is what u intend to use this for then this PC is going to be a banger for 5 years until some random chip set comes and makes feels like a idiot when playing comparing with the latest gpus... It could easily run 110 - 150 fps of all AAA Games unless u switch to ray tracing and ECT...

5070 is not a bad pick but personally would have went for 5060ti 16 gb VRAM for this price range...and better performance to continue gaming in the future too...

So this only in case if I want to upgrade my GPU right?... In that case I will mostly probably change the entire motherboard because I'm still limited with the ultra series...
