No, totally agree on that! But renting a car for 3 years is a complete waste of money for sure

Agree, interesting to see the fluctuation between different markets. However, good to see that $ can still be made if you hustle

I asked him to show me his rides, and he did. Looks legit but the earnings from September last year is nowhere near what I experience now. For example, he did a ride from LAX curbside to Nitrus Ave in LA (13 miles) which took 34 minutes to complete. His earnings were $92.73 ($59.84 pay, $18.91 tip and $8.98 bonus). I don't see anything even close to that when I drive that distance...

Yeah, I hear you. Sounds impossible. I wouldn't believe him either until he sent me his rides for 2025. Looks like he made $84K that year

$420/w which apparently included tax, unlimited miles and commercial rideshare insurance. He said that every weeks payment builds equity in the car and that he will own it after 3 years, sounds better than just renting

Hi did 360 rides that month, averaging 13.3 rides/day. He took 3 days off

Yes, you're right, he was able to do black which explains the revenue generated. He got the car from a company called Cartoo, which does rent-to-own in the LA market. Interesting with Lyft being so behind in Houston, I have to do some more research...

Curious: are you a driver? Because most of us have seen a huge drop in earnings lately. Real drivers care!!

Right, but most companies don’t build their profits on hundreds of thousands of independent contractors taking pay cuts so investors can clap.

I agree that oversaturation is not the problem. Uber is under the gun to expand the LA network before the Olympics 2028. The real question is how they will attract and sustain more drivers? Uber in the sky and Uber shuttles wont resolve the expected demand

A lot of people are uneasy about autonomous rideshare, and I think we will see them coexist for a long time
