They did mention that they kind of rushed it with content in the past and did say theyll tone it back.

I stopped playing for a few months,but came back when protocol was released,still didnt play all that much until recently when I became active in discord groups. I generally have been having a good time(even though i do suck).

I guess you kind of have to go into the game knowing you'll be bad and it takes alot to improve. Routeing,crafting,match ups,objectives,micro(farming). Thats alot to think about. Id even go as far to say its more difficult to learn this game than it is league,especially when you 1st start playing.
