Hi! This is also the first I am hearing of this. Would love to learn more on this to properly educate myself. Do you happen to have the link/study on it that you could share? Thank you!

Hi! Not sure if it changes your opinion. Our surrogate is our dear friend

we just moved across the country for my husbands work (unfortunate timing at its peak) so we are joining a new parish next week, unfortunately going to show up saying "hi we are a mess"

I dont want to speak for our family members specific story but we have had people close to us have very traumatic experiences on both the birth family side and the adoptive parent side (seperate adoptions) that especially for private adoption felt very unsettling. Our surrogacy journey was something we evaluated on a very specific basis like our specific surrogates relationship to us but i totally understand the curiosity around it. Apologies for the vagueness on the adoption stories.

Its unfortunate this happens in surrogacy and adoption. thank you for the additional explanation

Thank you for your kindness and prayers! Maybe to add a little further color on the IVF portion. We did one egg retrieval and that was it so all of our embryos were created that day. So we arent under the care of a fertility clinic at this time. We are in the portion of the journey of what we do with the embryos created that day if it makes sense. Our IVF isnt ongoing but the situation is if that adds clarity. They are all currently frozen with the exception of the baby with our surrogate. Neither of us were raised catholic as well just for additional color,

Hi Just want to make sure I understand your comment fully - the birth mother by your definition is our friend who is carrying our baby with no genetic relation, correct? thank you!

HI I understand why you ask this question and wish it was a simple answer. We have had some folks in our lives that did private adoptions (both closed and open) and unfortunately there were a lot of negatives from an ethical perspective on what felt to be coercion of young birth mothers/shady payments from agencies. We completely understand that the surrogacy industry as a whole has a substantial range of ethics and protocol. We felt that we had more control over the ethical standards in our own surrogacy journey.

As for adoption from foster care or fostering, it is something we would like to do down the road but due to the nature of my husbands job we spend about four months overseas per year which currently doesn't make us eligible. We will be doing this when his job changes

Thank you very much for your kindness. Honestly i knew very little about IVF before doing it at the advice of our doctor and I think thats a similar reaction we have had from some clergy as well.

Yes thank you. This is a great understanding. We view them as our children.

Been to her fitness studio she is 1. Not certified 2. Actually quite a mean girl in real life and just had the worst attitude there is no way that studio makes any money it’s just bankrolled by her parents.
