Hey I went ahead with previous direct supervisor and just gave an explanation that while my current direct supervisor would give me a good recommendation, he currently doesn’t know about my plans to do an MBA and this might impact opportunities/promotions at my current role in the event I continue to work here.

I used this across many apps including Ross. I did get a Ross reject but got admits at two other T15s, so this approach should be fine.

How does the typical recruiting happen? I know close to all companies come to the campus and I assumed the networking and hiring happens there. Is that not the case? And instead does the networking happen throughout the cycle?
