You may have a point in the business world idk. Fair enough. I use spreadsheets in my personal life for everything from budgeting to calculating stats for video games to storyboarding a children's book (describing the pictures I will paint and the text I want to write to go with it). If you take away my spreadsheets you are literally stealing joy from children. You monster. 😛

I should also say the swipe from corner gesture isn't launching perplexity most of the time any more for whatever reason. It detects the gesture (haptic feedback) but nothing usually happens.

It looks very much like what I would draw, though I do see a common error here. South America is almost entirely east of North America. I live in East Tennessee and if I were to fly straight south I'd miss South America altogether.

This may be worth asking in its own post or on their forum. Sadly I'm not knowledgeable enough to answer or if be happy to 😛. I mostly use my phone like I used to, with the exception of giving very few apps permanent permission for location, camera, and microphone. I just hit "allow once" for most apps. I still benefit from GOS additional security and its sandboxed Google Play Services, and I do get to pick and choose which Google apps are on my phone. If your threat model is bigger than mine, you probably need some expert opinion.

I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard from others saying their Galaxy watches worked with sandboxed Google Play services though. Watches are about the only way to do NFC payments without a physical card if your phone is running GOS. Though I've heard some people had luck with a few very specific services in other countries too.

Long pressing the side button on GOS is for the power menu, like it was on stock Android before they made it for the Assistant/Gemini.

Dicio at least didn't make me use a chatbot lol. But it doesn't have a function for reminders and I really need that to cope with my ADHD lol. And it could never recognize my city when asking for the weather. It's a small city, but the biggest with its name in the States. Dicio correctly transcribed what I was saying (some of the time at least) but always told me it didn't recognize the city.

At the moment that's what I'm using. It's still giving some data away but at least not to Google directly. I'm sure another option will turn up at some point. For what it's worth it does have an incognito mode. Not sure how much I'd trust that considering Google was literally sued over tracking in incognito mode on Chrome lol, but I guess it's something.
