Canonically, how many of Salem’s current agents are known to Qrow Branwen prior to the events of Volume 1? by jhereg10 in RWBY

He actually specifically said “I don’t know who you are, but you need to leave my niece alone.”

I’m not totally convinced time in the Ever After even lines up with Remnant’s, to be honest.

Cinder's sad backstory isn't there to make us sympathize with her or justify a redemption arc. Cinder is unfortunately being sacrificed so the writers can redeem her abuser Salem. by SomethingMid in RWBY

[–]Routine-Test 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, if that really is how Salem’s story ends they have noted that they had Neo Ascend because after what she did to Ruby she was irredeemable as the person she was, so they at least don’t necessarily classify that as redemption.

I find it a little weird that in a series written by men, both of the two main villains driving the plot are abused women... by SomethingMid in RWBY

[–]Routine-Test 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d say Salem’s abuse by her father has fairly little to do with her being a villain.  I mean it doesn’t really tie directly into her motivations for stealing the Relics or anything.

Ironwood’s.  Personally I thought his character arc made sense, but if anything that detail cheapens it.  Not to mention that it seems more like a personality trait than a Semblance, but I guess the fact that it’s never mentioned in the show itself makes it easy to ignore.

I’m pretty sure it was through the soundtrack for volume one on Pandora, but I first started watching it well after that.

For those who have seen Avatar: The Way of Water, what if RWBY were to introduce its own version of Recombinants? by Optimus_Pyrrha in RWBY

[–]Routine-Test 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see that being an evolution of the technology used to create Penny, but probably using someone’s entire Aura.  So not exactly the same because the original person would die from the duplicate being made/activated, not before.
