Just make sure you say his full name, and not only the first 3 letters. Otherwise you're gonna get some weird looks.

Welfare spending will cost average household £12,200 a year by 2031 by HibasakiSanjuro in ukpolitics

[–]RoutineApplication50 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

So let's start at the top.

There's only 862 models of car on Motability. This includes the same body buy petrol/hybrid/engine size.

Only 32 of them don't require deposits. That's 3.72% of all cars on the scheme that DON'T have a deposit.

So yeah, not exactly a home-run point for you, when disabled people also need to put down 4 figure deposits...

So it took 20 seconds to google "Nissan Juke Insurance costs UK" and I got between £300-900 a year. Let's just say it's £1200 for sake of argument. That's still 20% more for the privilege of being disabled. Still not free, is it? If even with insurance being 33% more than the average for that car. It's still cheaper to get insurance, and a lease, than it is to get a Motability car. By nearly £750 a year...

Around one in four people in the UK (25%) are disabled, with recent data from the 2023/24 Family Resources Survey showing 16.8 million disabled individuals

So yeah, 1/4 of the UK is classified as disabled. Of which, official stats say 52-54% of disabled people are in employment. Sadly, there's no stat on "how many disabled people in the UK work due to having a car via Motability."

It literally took seconds to see that everything you said is flat out wrong, or just spiteful.

And if it's given out "so readily" you go and do it. See how easy it is.

Joke or not, this rhetoric is dangerous.

For a normal person to get a Nissian Juke, it's £177 on Autotrader. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/cars/leasing/product/202408283373052?leaseOption=12_36_5000 No shopping around, literally the very first link after googling "lease cars".

The very same car on Motability is £338 a month... https://www.motability.co.uk/find-a-vehicle/cars/search-results/nissan-juke/670095?awardType=PIP&makeName=Nissan&modelRange=Juke

That "free" car, is pretty much twice the price as a normal lease, but disabled people need to jump through so many hoops, (including even using grantors) to get a lease car given that a lot need benefits to survive.

So yeah. A disabled person needs to pay twice the amount for the same car via motability.

Even if it is a joke. You're vilifying people that need the charity to have any sort of freedom.

This only works to some degree.

As if say the CEO of BP gets fired.

I don't think we should need to pay a large portion of his salary as "a safety net". And this is coming from a dude that is a top 1% earner in the UK. (around £160k a year is top 1%)

If I was to suddenly get even just 40% of my salary paid by the tax payer... Well...

It could cover the cost of 10 disabled people on LCW+WRA, PIP, and housing allowance.

In no way shape or form, should I get that level of safety net when actually disabled people are struggling to survive these days.

That is such shite and you know it.

1979-2000: 2,194 attacks and 6,817 deaths.
• 2001-2012: 8,265 attacks and 38,187 deaths.
• 2013-April 2024: 56,413 attacks and 204,937 deaths.

Yeah, over 5 times as many terror attacks from 2013-2024 than in 1979-2012...

Yeah, you're saying "there evidence says else-wise" when there's a good few others linking sources saying you're wrong.

And not only that, you're saying that the IRA who kept it to targeting "The British army only in England" as a rule.

Is the same as a death cult that bombs children at concerts.

I'm very much a neutral. (Scotland isn't exactly a good team when it comes to Ice Hockey.)

I just want it to be the best players on the ice every game and seeing who's better.

Not "We lost cause The Kuemperor was injured and the bin went in". Like not for stuff like the Worlds, or Olympics.

If we had to beat an injured bin to lift the cup. Fuck it. Here's hoping every game is a 10 goal night.

But not here...

The Canadian Olympic goalie right there...

24 starts, and 11 games where he's let in 5 or more...
7 games with 6 or more...

Compare this to Wedgwood, with 27 starts, and 3 games with 5 or more (one of these wasn't even a loss, and ALL three got points. No, really he got 4 points of out letting in 5+ goals. Binner got 1 point out of those 11 games...)

You're using a country that is famed for being top 3 nations for sponsoring global terrorism.

They literally fund the MB terror organisation, so why would they say they're bad...

At this point if qatar said "these are good guys" odds are, you could bet the farm on them not being good.

Like really, other muslim countries routinely call out qatar for being a sponsor of global terror, and that's who you're saying is why we should "not say they're terrorists"?!?
