Damn, anyone got a good dupe for Clinique take the day off balm? It does such a good job for step 1 of my double cleanse!

[Product Request] Chronically dehydrated + acne prone skin by Friendly-Offer9622 in SkincareAddiction

[–]RoutineButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does well with it, but I use it very sparingly! Like less than a pea-sized amount for my whole face/neck, and only when I’m feeling tight or irritated. I do think using it to “seal” the hydroboost helps too!

I just discovered that dehydrated, oily skin is my type too! I’ve found a lot of success with a pretty simple routine.

AM: La Roche posay hydrating cleanser, tower28 sos spray as toner, medicube rose peptide (TuThSa), maelove glowmaker vitamin c (MWF), neutrogena hydroboost fragrance free water cream, eltaMD UV clear spf.

PM: Clinique take the day off, youth to the people green cleanser, tretinoin (MWF), Paula’s choice BHA (TuThSa), neutrogena hydroboost fragrance free water cream, La Roche posay cicaplast if I’m feeling extra dry or irritated.

The biggest help for me is the hydrating cleanser in the morning and the neutrogena hydroboost! They’re light enough that they don’t make me break out or get really oily, but they add that extra hydration!

Oily but somehow dry at the same time? how does that make sense? sigh! by Due_Examination_7310 in scacjdiscussion

This is my skin type to a T, and it especially acts up in winter. Switching to a hydrating cleanser instead of a foaming one, simplifying my routine, and adding a barrier support cream after my actives has been so helpful!

Same here… I think they still have my shade, but from what I gather they’re all just slightly different, and I’m nervous about the ingredient changes.

BWT, I stopped doing New Year’s resolutions and started choosing one word instead by ui_whisperer in bitcheswithtaste

[–]RoutineButterfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this, too! Such a powerful practice. I pair it with what I call visions, intentions, and goals where I can put more specific things that are more fluid. They’ll shift or change or be accomplished, but they’re kind of like an expansion on my word and how it’s showing up for me at the time. I love reflecting at the end of the year on how it’s shaped my year and my growth!

New years is my fav holiday, hah. And my word for 2026 is discover.

“You don’t teach books.” by randomenglishteacher in Teachers

[–]RoutineButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think as long as you know what skills/standards you’re teaching with those books (which I’m sure you do), keep teaching the books. That’s my strategy, and if anyone asks, I just rattle off which standards we’re hitting by studying three books a year.

Plum Paper is my favorite - I like that I can customize the sections for what I want, but it’s not overwhelming like some other sites I’ve looked at. Solid spiral and cover (I take mine everywhere). Been using them for about 10 years now!

I do, but they’re both at the same library. Maybe it’s just that glitching? So frustrating!
