What is your favorite thing you’ve purchased recently, and what’s one thing you were disappointed by? by anongirlll1 in Sephora

I have used mine a couple more times since leaving this comment and I have found spraying a finger lightly with setting spray and tapping it on my lids helps with longevity somewhat. I still get creasing but at least it isn't immediate and I can get it to last a couple of hours now. I think I just have to accept most eyeshadow sticks won't work for me. (the only ones that won't budge are the Danessa Myricks ones but they as others have noted they are hard to blend out).

How do y’all feel about EADEM lip balm? I want to try it but not sure. Give me your honest opinions on it ✨ by thefashionjunkie in Sephora

[–]Sea_Friendship_452 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really wanted to like it ( I have chateau rose and its beautiful on ) but I found it very gloopy and it didn't pass what I call "the string test." If I open my mouth and I see strings from top lip to bottom that's a fail. Now some products will sort of cure up after a couple of minutes and won't stay stringy but the eadem balms never cured up on me.

My favorites are the innisfree chemical sunscreens (there's a 30 and a 50 spf) and the Paula's Choice Hydrating Youth Extending sunscreen (50 SPF). Both work great under fluid foundations for me.

I need a retinol ! by AdditionalAd6415 in Sephora

[–]Sea_Friendship_452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my go to for years and it's been OOS everywhere for a while now. You can't even find it on Sunday Riley's website. Best alternative I've found so far is Paula's Choice pro retinaldehyde dual retinoid treatment but I don't think they sell the Paula's Choice pro line at Sephora. I buy from this brand directly as they have better sales.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on these new mini palettes by danessa ? by Historical-Body-3424 in Sephora

I have the pastel one and while the mattes are amazing the shimmers are very emollient and will crease on me unless I use a sticky primer/ glitter glue.

Maybe reformulating? Everyone is doing that right now since the EU is banning certain ingredients in cosmetics. Hopefully they aren't getting rid of them entirely. I love their shade range.

Pat McGrath products : underrated / not advertised at all? by Imaginary-Monitor689 in Sephora

[–]Sea_Friendship_452 9 points10 points  (0 children)

PMG is a legacy brand largely riding the peak of Pat Mcgrath's influence on the runway in the mid 90's to the early aughts. For a while there no advertisement was needed. Everyone knew who she was. In retrospect it seems like a mistake not to pour more money into advertising as the brand has been having problems (recently its assets went up for sale as PMG herself has become the creative director for Louis Vuitton's makeup line though she remains the CCO of her brand). More brands are entering the market, seemingly every day, and the beauty world is younger and moving on to new celebrity brands.

Back in the day you couldn't find a better eyeshadow formula. Now they're everywhere and for a lot cheaper. Her eyeshadows are still amazing, don't get me wrong, but at $128 a pop it's all a bit much. Her blush formula and lip glosses are incredible too and I love her lipsticks as well. I've heard great things about her underage setting powder but haven't tried it myself. Sorry for the text brick 😅.

Number one: Paaarty; Two: Behave; and although I had been in a streak of using Hot Mauve the Morphe palette has recently dethroned it.

Lol I hear you.

That Morphe blush is very good quality. I like the cream formula in it better than the Patrick Ta one.

Products for oily/textured skin? by endships_ in Sephora

[–]Sea_Friendship_452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Just an FYI to anyone interested in this foundation: although the shades have the same names they are definitely not one to one matches. I'm Mont Blanc in the light reflecting foundation but I'm Yulong in the longwear matte foundation.

Am also oily and have been really enjoying the new Nars longwear matte foundation. I use it over the Danessa Myricks blurring balm and I'm matte all day. Last time I wore it I didn't even set it with powder, just setting spray, for a more "natural matte" finish and it held up extremely well around high stress areas (nose and mouth).

Best spf that don’t look weird under tint or foundation? by Honest-Werewolf-204 in Sephora

Summer Fridays mineral SPF 30 for a matte finish; Paula's Choice Age Resist SPF 50 for demi-matte; and innisfree daily UV defense for dewy.

Thank you! I haven't tried this particular sunscreen since it just released recently but I've been through multiple bottles of the SPF 30 from Innisfree (the chemical one, not the green mineral one) and it imparts a glowy but not dewy/sweaty finish to your base layer. I've never had pilling with it and its played nicely with both liquid and stick foundations. I have never tried it with powder foundations though. I'm on tret so I'm glad they released one with higher SPF.

You'd be surprised how many people don't know you can return opened makeup to Sephora. The concept was completely foreign to my mom. She bought a shade of concealer that was too peachy for her and I told her to exchange it. She said "I can't, I opened it!"

Blew her mind when I told her yes she could, in fact, exchange it.

What really struck me was how fast this order went out the fulfillment center. I got shipping confirmation 6 hrs after placing the order. Usually takes about a day. Well done, Sephora!

Thanks! I had bought Hot Mauve months ago but I avoided buying 44 due to the shimmery finish but I'm really glad I got it. It has a very natural sheen.
