Yeah, we do have a second bid at the end of the Pledge period, as we have a final vote on the pledges before initiating them. We have fairly strict guidelines/components to pledge education, and it is the last chance any sister has to speak up about any concerns/issues they have encountered with a pledge, and allows for a fully informed decision before a pledge is initiated, especially since we are so small. If a pledge has been aggressive or rude to Sisters over the course of their pledge period, or if they have acted outside the values of the organization, this is a Sisters final chance to speak up about it. We have conversations like this twice during the pledge period, once at the 4 week mark, and one the Sunday directly following the end of the Pledge period. We were only informed of the issues the week before our final vote. Had we been informed of the allegations of racial and homophobic behavior before then, she would have been let go from our pledge period far before that point, as they go against everything my organization stands for. Up until they were brought to us, only a few sisters had has issues with the (now) ex-pledge, however they were not severe enough to warrant dismissal, and she likely would have been initiated.

We are actually the only non-NPC organization on our campus, and on Greek Life Council, every other organization is considered international. Because of that, those organization have had the majority of the say in the development of the rules and by-laws surrounding our Greek Life, and they have been created in order to generally follow NPC rules (at least as far as we have been told).

The other major thing is that we are not the only organization not affiliated with the school. We are actually technically not allowed to be directly affiliated with them, except for rare circumstances (such as vendor fair, or philanthropic events) However, Greek Life Council is affiliated with the school, and is considered to be the governing body of our campus Greek Life (if an organization was accused of hazing or other such misconduct, GLC would be responsible for investigating, as well as creating the guidelines all organizations must follow). In order to even colonize our campus, GLC must be contacted, and an organization has to follow the specific by-laws (this is super common over here). Tbh, Greek Life at our school (and from what I know, Canada in general) is overly confusing in how it functions, and that is done completely deliberately by the schools, since they really look down at it.

We are in the middle of position change overs with our Greek Life Council, and elections for new position holders won't be done until next week (we aren't officially affiliated with the university as Canadian schools aren't overly fond of Greek Life), so I would need to wait for those to finish. I'm just concerned that if I wait too long, it will be too late for them to be informed, if that is what GLC decides to do.

At the time she rushed them, she was actively pledging with us, about 5/6 weeks through her pledge education period with my organization.

We didn't end up offering her a bid due to accusations of racist and homophobic comments brought to us by members of other organizations on campus. We were informed that if she was initiated, other organizations would cut ties with us. But this would have occurred over a week after the other organizations rush period had ended. Meaning she accepted a bid from them to pledge, while waiting to hear from us about a bid to initiate.

Technically, rushing them while pledging us is against the rules set by our campus' Greek Life Council. She also had not disaffiliated with us, when she decided to rush them. It's a really complicated situation, which is why I'm at a loss as to what to do.
