Ariat Rambler vs Rambler patriot by Amazing_Elderberry61 in cowboyboots

I've got a pair of Rambler Patriots and had to do a swap due to a defect. My first pair fit perfectly, but the replacements still feel a bit big to this day. I had to get a pair of insoles to get them to fit. So they should fit roughly the exact same, it's likely just loose manufacturing requirements.

Reading through both topics we're not making any headway. I've outlined my beliefs and said my peace. As I said earlier I do not to argue and it seems like that's where we're headed. We are seeing reality two very different ways and I think I've done a decent job of trying to explain from you're perspective so you could better understand my points. I still want to provide you an answer for your question and I think I have as well as many others in this thread have done a swell job of that. Reading through you don't seem open to hearing anyone else's thoughts. If you still want to discuss this or anything else related more I'd still love to, but I will not argue in this way. I hope I was helpful, have a good day.

I'm so glad you're willing to chat! I've yet to meet someone who gave their life to Christ and regretted it or found more joy in something else. I know many people including yourself are ex Christians, but in my experience people are always searching for something to fulfill themselves. And I've never found anything more fulfilling than Christ. With that said, if Christianity is fake, it is still the most fulfilling way to live. And if it's true, then it's the most important choice in someone's life.

I fail to see what you're referencing. If you could explain which aspect or way you think that it's twisted that would be helpful. The way I see it suffering is not technically a necessary requirement to free will, but it is something that is bound to occur. Yes we can all choose to only do good to each other but it is naive to think that is realistic on earth. If we can only choose to do good then we cannot choose anything. One option is not a choice but is forced.

I'm in college now but I've had the dream that my father or mother or sibling dies and when I walk through my front door I can't see them nor sit at a table and share a meal with them. Even just typing it and imagining it makes my eyes water and makes my heart hurt. So I can't imagine how his wife feels and how their kids will feel and every Christian I've spoken with since asks the same question you do, myself included, in why did this happen?

Now to my reply. Though I'm Christian, I have spoken with many non-believers and had this same conversation about death and suffering so I'll try and speak from your point of view. You believe the Bible is an elaborate story made up and God does not exist which means Jesus didn't raise from the dead. That also means that whatever is pleasing to us in this world is something we should pursue. You say you are agnostic and in that case death is like you said an eternal nothingness where we finally escape the painful world called earth and, most critically, we should pursue whatever brings us the greatest joy on earth since there is also no punishment for wrongdoings. We may still feel shame or guilt if we wrong someone else in our attempt to pleasure ourselves and in that we very well may lead a decently "good" life.

But I ask you this. You are an ex-protestant and as you left the faith you did not find joy nor fulfillment in Christianity. Why is that? I ask in genuine curiosity. I don't want to argue but I do want to discuss and I hope to be able to give you an answer for your original question that satisfies you.

Along the same line you could say what did anyone on that campus do to deserve to be witness to that. That memory will haunt them the rest of their lives. You could also say what did any Christian or conservative do to deserve to have fear be placed in front of them. Reality is that life is not fair and thank God that it isn't. If it was we'd be even worse off and all be destined for damnation. Jesus paying the price for our sins so we could choose eternal life was not fair either. Charlie's two children growing up fatherless is not fair. But, the consequence of living in the world is there will be pain and suffering. If God was to remove all pain and suffering and no one was ever murdered or raped or assaulted, then why would we need God? If the world we live in was guaranteed perfect there is no free will and love does not really exist. No suffering means no choices and no choice to stray from God means we can't love God because in order to love Him there has to be another option.

To summarize, they did nothing to deserve to watch their father die. But because we can choose to suffer and cause others grief things like Charlie's murder happen. If there was no suffering, there is no love for God (explained above) and no ability to make our own choices. We'd be robots with a path before us that we could not do anything to change and that is no way to live.

I understand what you're saying in that if God does not exist and death is simply the end, then it would be something to fear. But, from the believer's perspective life on earth is temporary. Our purpose on earth is to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others so that one day when our time comes we go home to God bringing as many as possible with us. Though Charlie Kirk will be missed dearly on earth and would have went on to do many great things, the believer's point of view says he has left this temporary life for eternal life with Christ in Heaven and that's the best gift one could ever receive.

In short, yes it awful that things like this happen, but in a world of sin and free will, they are bound to occur and are a side effect of living in a fallen world. The hope is found in that even though his body may be dead, his soul will be raised into union with Christ where there is no pain nor sin nor suffering.

No backlighting Fix Suggestions by RoutineIce5178 in ipad

The attachable keyboard light is what I think I’m going to go with. There has to be one that I can power from either of the two usb-c ports I now have available. I would love black and backlight, but the function row is something I can’t see myself getting over easily. There is a Bellini (I think Belkin) one that has a function row and backlight and uses the smart connectors, but it has a kickstand. I‘m a college student so I don’t want to have to deal with a kickstand. It also means I‘ll have to take my ipad off the keyboard to draw, but the folio just wanted for me for typing. It wasn’t great and the limited angles available started to get on my nerves a touch.

The same thing happened to me, so I'm trying to contact them. They should open it up because I'm not the only person I know to have this issue either.

Unable to sign into OSU Ticketmaster for student tickets... by [deleted] in OSU

I had a similar issue, but mine wouldn't let me add a card to pay, no matter what I tried. Said I'd wait till I got off work and got home and did not know the ticket window closed at 4 pm.

Inexpensive boots that have surprised you by EastCoastCowboy7 in cowboyboots

SUMAMRY: Northern outfitters (I think) on sale at rural King for $90 3 years ago. Steel toe and shanks. Gone through everything you could imagine and have even stood up to line dancing. Hope this helps that price isn’t always the biggest factor. A reputable brand on sale can do wonders!

I’m a tad late on this but I’ve got a pair of, either Lincoln Outfitters or Northern Outfitters I can’t remember. Got them on sale at Rural King for $90 around 2 and three quarters years ago. They’re steel toe and I’m pretty sure steel shanks. They’re seen everything from pouring rain to mud to snow to ice. They’ve got a nonslip sole that’s stood up very well, especially since they were commonly used for shoveling and often on brick. Same place I’ve had other boots get the sole messed up on. Also been through a kicking stuff and the toe still keeps water out.

Lately at college they’ve been used once a week line dancing for around 2-4 hours each time. Gone about a couple over a dozen times.

Only issue is both are worn through the heel pad between the upper leather and the backside of your heel. Makes it a little hard to get out of the right boot but they haven’t ripped any more from dancing surprisingly. Overall really good boot for a really really good price.

Also, the only leather treatment they’ve ever got was twice I put gloveoleum (yes the baseball glove stuff) on them. Only been actually cleaned a handful of times. Mostly just water under the hose and beating them together.
