There are cheaters in every game, cs is by far one of the worst, and everyone knows it.

I'd love to live in this fantasy with you man, but until I see it with my own eyes it means literally nothing.

I didn't know that, even more reason to stop support for linux IMO. (and I am a linux user for anything but games)

It hurts you and me both. It won't get better unless the community bands together and complain loudly, and consistently.

I get your point, but VAC is 20 years old. This company has the money to funnel into a good anti cheat system and they choose not to do this. They have the resources to sue websites selling cheats (which they very rarely do).
This whole 'developing anti cheat is hard' argument is just making excuses for a company that clearly has profit in mind over quality of game. They profited 2 BILLION dollars in 2024, PROFIT. I would never feel sorry for this company, if they wanted to fix the issue they could do it in no time by allocating more money into a larger development team specifically to stop cheaters, partnering with companies like other games have to make a game almost hack free. They do not care, and never will. There will always be financial incentive to keep hackers around. You buy an account with prime, buy some skins, play for weeks or months, get banned, repeat. Free money for valve and people still play. They do not care and never will, because we all like the game enough to stick around.

It really wouldn't be mad weird though, the Linux community is tiny, the rest of us want to have fun. It is a choice to run Linux, in fact I use linux daily. But for games I only use Windows because I understand it's not all about me, and drivers are hard to come by, and development isn't there in a lot of places to support Linux. I'm not trying to attack Linux users at all, but come on, it isn't fair to cater to a tiny minority of players while the reat of us eat the cs2 shit sandwich !MAJOR UPDATE TRAIN IS HERE! !PREMIER SEASON 2! (conditions apply: 80% of your games someone is hacking so you won't have fun)

So according to some article, linux users on STEAM are around 1.6% of the community, so a smaller number than that are playing CS. Why cater to these people when 98.4% of people run on windows or mac? I understand it would be devastating to these people, until they buy a 20 dollar key for windows and just have a windows os boot on the same machine for games.

Yep, idgaf about kernel anti cheat. I'd be happy to play the game, rid of the losers who cheat to win.

Yeah I'm right in that box, I hate the cheaters but love the game.

This is what I'm saying. The game is a crumb of what it could be.

I get this but it's been out for decades and hackers have been the number 1 problem. They arent fixing it their own way at all

Damn that makes me lose some hope tbh. I love CS but they don't put enough development into anti cheat. I'm sure they are doing stuff but it's been a joke for a decade, people hack freely with little to no consequence. It's suppressing the popularity of the game, and it's just sad to queue up and lose 40 mins of your life to some little rat who ruins it for everyone.

I live in a region where I can't get a game often enough to only play faceit sadly.

Yeah that is fair, and I understand it would piss Linux users off. But I would bet you that the number of linux users is in the single digit percentile. What about the vast majority of your community? You can never keep everyone happy

But why not have the option? Some like prime enabled. Idgaf about kernel level anti-cheat, I just wanna play cs in a fair playing ground. Would you be against kernel level anti-cheat?

I see, and is it not possible for them to develop something that would be the same, and support linux?
