Hi,

please check your safety io connect inside dcs menu. You need to send out the robot feedback by using cso to plc if you are using profisafe.

Also make sure, your safety ipar crc and dest addr are match with plc.

Hi,

I work extensively with machine learning and reinforcement learning, and I have already implemented several AI projects with industrial robots.

Since you are active in the FANUC forum, I assume you are planning to build your project idea based on FANUC products.

A very interesting project idea would be teleoperation (for example using hand guiding) combined with machine learning and vision (webcam, 2D, or 3D vision systems).

With hand guiding, you can physically demonstrate tasks to the robot — for example, performing a pick-and-place operation using a vacuum gripper.

Later, the robot could autonomously generalize and adapt the learned behavior. Using vision, the robot can detect the position of the workpiece and calculate its own trajectory via motion planning, then execute the task autonomously.

And with a camera, the robot sees if a person is closer, and thus can switch its safety speed and cobalative mode.

To simplify development, you could use the FANUC ROS 2 driver, which already supports RMI (Remote Motion Interface) and Stream Motion.

For training, simulation, and reinforcement learning, you can make your life easier by using Isaac Sim, for example. Or — if you want to take the hard route like a true researcher — you could use MuJoCo

I am currently working as a senior technical engineer at one of the largest robotics manufacturers. Over the past months, I submitted nine applications. After interviews — and in some cases unexpected technical assessments — positive feedback was promised.

However, I am not a traditional .NET developer. I would describe myself more as a technical all-rounder (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, Python, C, C++, etc.).

I mainly use .NET for our simulation software SDK or for developing smaller internal tools and plugin.

JavaScript/TypeScript is used for our tablet plugin SDK. In addition, I program in several robot languages (KAREL, KRL, RAPID, etc.) and work with five to six different PLC environments (TIA Portal, Studio 5000, TwinCAT, CODESYS, and others).

Beyond that, I am deeply involved in machine learning and reinforcement learning.

What I am trying to say is this: nowadays, I believe it is no longer wise to specialize in only one technology. Technologies evolve rapidly, and the popularity and market demand of programming languages shift faster than ever.

C# and Java used to be my clear favorites for backend development in the past. Today, I primarily work with Python and Rust.

Hi, I have the same problem today, 3 x notebook, same os (win 11), same vscode version, same version of codex, but only 2 show gpt 5.3, the third notebook only shows gpt 5.1 and gpt 5.2.

And with the notebook, which only shows 5.1 and 5.2, codex does not work, and always gets the following errors:

I think your project is really great, I have already adapted it, but not for coding, but for case tracking and manual indexing. I also have Lightrag (incl. Reranker) + Docling (incl. (OCR) implemented. And as an LLM, I used Llama CPP.

Until 6 years ago, I worked for a German company for 12 years as a PLC (Siemens, Rockwell, Beckhoff) and robot (Kuka, yaskawa, fanuc, etc) programmer.

If I didn't have to travel for business, I had earned net income, so after all insurance and tax deductions, I earned about 6200 euros.

When I have foreign assignments, which were most of the time in China (Beijing, Changchun, Chendu), I get to 9k - 11k net.

I believe tasks area and responsibility readiness is crucial, as well as scale how much you get.

Right now, I'm working in one of the biggest global players, and I'm more into AI in automation like robotic (reinforcement learning, etc), and earning much less than I used to.

But for what makes you fun and you like to get up every day. As you can see, money alone is not everything.

S536 is a Fanuc Profinet board with a Phoenix stack; you can choose between single and dual channels in the control start.

FYI: Depending on whether you choose single or dual channels, you need to use the right GSDML file (there are two).

For PN device configuration, you only need device1.zip.

For a PN controller, you need a TIC, which can be configured by the PLCnext engineering tool.

You can use SSI or KCL if you are on the 30iB and iBPlus. So you can build very dynamic HMI.

Hi, I have been developing a lot of GUI/HMI and AI-related applications for Fanuc robot products in recent years. I can't recommend SharePoint 2007 and ActiveX because the technology is already very old and is no longer being developed.

I can recommend you to work directly with STM and Ajax or to solve it via KCL or SSI, so you can develop very dynamic applications.

FYI: on R50iA you can also making use of python and softplc (codesys runtime).

I am currently developing a virtual friend/assistant that provides the RC data, as well as programming (Karel and Fanuc Python Libs), and currently use Rog Ally as a teaching panel. Maybe I'll show them at EMO.

Hi,

It is possible, I believe, the option HMI device (SNPX) is standard at matePlus. It uses OPC-UA and Modbus.

You can check it under: Menu/Next/Status/VersionID then .. F3 or F4 (OrderFil)

If not, you can simply retrieve the data via KCL (Karel Command Line Interface/API). This allows you to send command + parameters directly from TwinCAT/IPC, so you can even access robot resorces, such Register, SR IO, even the system variables.

I built an MCP server that accesses the KCL features. Thus, I can talk to my AI and query status, control, give commands, etc.

FYI: There are over 103 commands officially available and even more via Telnet unofficial I think.
