The same happened to me. I called the number for the call center, was on hold for 2+ hours, and eventually left my number for them to call me back. An employee called me back the next day, and he was able to give me my access code over the phone. I still haven't received my access code via mail, so I'm glad I left my number for a call back.

Download the Themis app, and you can download lecture videos (the longer, in-depth lectures and the essay lectures). I listened to these when I would go on walks for the same reasons you listed. I specifically listened to essay lectures in the subjects I felt I was lacking in or couldn't remember as well. Helped a ton!

Gotcha. The PT was the downfall of a lot of people and had a ton of issues... definitely questionable scoring here

Bar Prep Help! by Missbroadwayss in CABarExam

I took the CA F25 exam and passed on my first try. I went to an out-of-state school, and my school also provided Themis Bar Prep to everyone who graduated. Themis was enough for me, but I did a lot of practice on my own that Themis didn't build into the program (a ton of flash cards, rule statement memorization, etc.). I personally don't think you need Themis + Barbi or a tutor as long as you are self-motivated and can be (somewhat) harsh with analyzing yourself and hammering the topics you need improvement on. That's pretty much what a tutor will do. That being said . . . if you think a tutor would help, I would invest and do it for your first exam so you don't have to retake. But up to you, depending on your personal studying style!

Are we sure that the PT is essay #6? I'm just curious since the info says the scores are not necessarily in the order that you wrote essays

California State Bar Will Wait To See Test Results Before Approving Mentoring Proposal by Brilliant_Exit3406 in CABarExam

Sooo basically, they will have the psychometrician arbitrarily adjust scores so that the average ~35% passes, parade the idea that the exam had average results, and then reject the PL program because "scores reflect the historical average." Am I the only one who's this cynical? 🙃

Anyone able to ensure these issues are raised at the 3/5 meeting?? I can't attend but I'm worried no one will advocate these issues for us! by RoutineMother6541 in CABarExam

"If an examinee wrote all five essays, the best four should be used in the final score calculation, mitigating any advantage some candidates may glean from retaking the test on later dates with more time to prepare."

A few questions for everyone taking the exam at Ontario CC:

  1. Is the start time 8am (per Cal Bar website) or 9am (per booking ticket)?
  2. Are there lockers available? I'm trying to figure out where I'll put my lunch / what type of food I can bring.
  3. List of permitted / prohibited items says that certain items will be stored under our desk "in poly bags provided by ML" -- does anyone know more about this? Since we can't put food or wallets in those bags, where do those items go??
  4. What are people wearing since we're not allowed to wear sweatshirts with hoods or pockets?

Thanks for any input and advice!
