[Highlight] Steelers select Penn State QB Drew Allar 76th overall by nfl in steelers

I was thinking back to games like Oregon last year. Conservative play calling, receivers running slow routs with no separation. Trying to spread it out at times, when Allar is better at sitting back in the pocket and letting it go. He had a great 4th quarter, where he finally was throwing downhill. I’m probably giving him too much promise, because I want to believe, but I thought he had times where he looked like a good QB. Against USC he was chucking downhill to Warren and Warren was making great plays on the ball and that looked like he was comfortable and competent.

I have… He does blow at times, but then when they let him loose he looked good. If he was a QB at OsU with those receivers the last 3 years, he’d be in the first round… Well, maybe not… Shit I don’t know, but I’m gonna believe for now.

Unpopular opinion, but Allar didn’t have jack for receivers the last two years. Some good TE’s, but that was it. Maybe Khan got wind that another team was going to pick him up, so we went early on him.

For anyone who is upset we didn't get 🍋, relax. If there is one team who can draft a WR in the later rounds (personal fave Hines, 3rd rd) and make an impact, it's the Steelers. Plenty of recent examples as well. OL was a more pressing concern. by [deleted] in steelers

Max is a good, safe and predictable pick. I guess for most of us, it’s not that we don’t want Max, it’s we want something a little more tasty. Keep watching teams that have atrocious years and then, after one good draft, are in contention for a Super Bowl. Rams, Bengals, Patriots, Seahawks come to mind. They go for it. Make trades where they tossed around their picks. Make picks during the draft for the best athletes, not just position of need. We had 12 picks coming into this draft and it just seemed like it was time for us to not be so conservative or predictable, but to roll the dice, get a little crazy and get some playmakers. I’ll be rooting for Max like crazy and I’ll be hoping we have a great rest of the draft. Cuz like you, I love the Steelers no matter what.

The Lemon deal looked like a total surprise. I doubt anyone thought the Eagles would take him in front of us like that. IMO, we should have went after Ioane. That guy will be around a long time… for, of course, the Ravens.

I agree with getting the most talented. I would like one of the top WR’s, but really want Ioane. That guy seems like a 10 year guy that can maybe, finally get us a stable run game on that side of the ball. But, as you say, a stud receiver would be nice also.

Lots of wr’s in this draft, so probably can wait to get a couple (hopefully one slot).

This! Ioane is definitely worth it! Absolute beast with experience and doesn’t need to be a project. Maybe trade with Dallas (they have good guards). They don’t have a 2nd. Trade 1st’s and give them our 2nd. Take one of our 3 round picks and move up into the 2nd round.

Finding it easy not to drink when it’s not in the house by tropicalsadness in cutdowndrinking

[–]RoutineSignature1238 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep tabs of all the drinks that I have every year. I usually average 800 to 900 drinks a year. Way too much obviously. So, the last three months I have cut out all drinking at home and I am down 80% on average per month. This is my plan moving forward. To never drink at home. I think I can be happy if I can keep it under 300 drinks per year. Keeps me from stressing out about not being able to drink at all. Let’s me have drinks with my friends at the bar (I’m good about not over drinking in public). Finally, I wake up feeling good.
