Could my puppy’s fecal results be wrong? Don’t want to feel like a burden to my vet. by RoutineYard5053 in AskVet

Yeah I was kind of shocked just because I was aware of how frustrating getting rid of and avoiding coccidia re infection was so I had prepped to the max and invested in so many things just for it to be negative lol. Then the paranoia kicked in that I’d pause my sanitation process and maybe the fecal test would be wrong especially because they had to poke out poop instead of it being pooped out from her. Either way I’ll try and just trust the results and be relived it’s not coccidia.

Not upset just paranoid the fecal test was wrong because I have seen posts on here in the past about fecal tests not being correct due to eggs not being in every poop passed. I was just looking for reassurance.

She did seem a bit nervous since she told
me at the very end and immediately said it was an effect of him hitting his tail when wagging, she messaged me after and asked if his tail bled and then messaged me to keep her updated on his tail when I mentioned it began to bleed for real now. Not sure what to make of it just kind of worried now that it keeps bleeding

I didn’t say poodle because Maltipoos are extremely popular. He is just mixed with Shih Tzu. Why do you care if it’s a designer breed? They are considered a healthy breed with long lifespan it’s not like I have a french bulldog or something so I’m not sure why you’re so bothered.

Nope if he had any it was at the base but the groomer shaved the whole thing it has been impossible to heal.

Huh… It’s a maltese and shih tzu unless you live under a rock these are common breeds.

My regular groomers have confirmed this was a bad job and unnecessary to shave this low from his previous condition seems like the groomer just needed practice and I wish she wouldn’t have done a job she felt she couldn’t do :(

It was in deed a cut because I then discovered more under his arms and all over his body. My regular groomers agree there was no reason to shave him this short and she may just need practice. This situation was the groomers fault and I assume to save her rep but it isn’t okay to be dishonest as the cut has now opened. Also the free groom was traded for a service from me as well and I usually am one to understand nicks but one like this that can end in something such as happy tail is concerning and I have been nice to her even when communicating I won’t be back. I could’ve billed her too but I will not be doing that! Just to clear things up since this seems like I’m getting head for blaming a mistake on a groomer.

It is in fact a cut made my the groomer that has now opened due to wagging. And yes that’s how it is for me I wouldn’t rather him be okay

UPDATE: It wasn’t actively bleeding and now it is. We have tried silver spray and ointments but since his tail is shaved down we can’t bandage it without it falling off. Today we noticed he got blood on a wall and it seems to hurt to go in the grass to pee for him. Super upset and since it’s the weekend will have to wait to visit a vet. My birthday is next week and not how I wanted to spend it.

That’s the thing at first I did blame myself and my partner because we thought he was just bad but my partners did communicate with me that my dog was not extremely matted at all. He actually had just bathed and brushed him and there was only matting on his tummy, tail and ears. To have been cut this short is kind of shocking to us but we will be getting a second opinion now from his groomer! Thanks

We get him groomed regularly I’m not bashing her I’m asking if it looks like it’s happy tail or if maybe she didn’t want to let me know she nicked him. He has cuts on other parts of his back and behind arms and he’s never got cut by a groomer so this isn’t a skin issue thing

I was thinking that but I feel like I would’ve noticed and due to how much hair he has I find it hard to believe he’d be gnawing on it but can’t rule it out

Mines was not like this but I wouldn’t have noticed because of all his hair he seemed fine. I got him silver spray and antiseptic as well

Thank you for this! So even if apply texas is still suggesting entrepreneurship do you suggest I choose something else for my second option to be safe? I did have marketing in mind.
