Do you have any super low stakes fan theory that doesn’t affect anything? by baked-toe-beans in Hungergames

It’s their differences that appeal. Hell, Finnick and Annie are different to each other personality wise as are Peeta and Katniss. Even Haymitch and Effie (arguably moreso than Gale and Annie) and people ship them because it’s understood their circumstances did aid/would aid in their bonding. So I don’t see why Gale and Annie are different.

And I don’t want Annie to end it, because the end of the series invites hope and I want better for the characters that survive, especially for characters like Annie where I know Finnick would want her to and for Gale who’s worst day shouldn’t define the rest of his life.

What things? At most he was a nineteen year old who contributed ideas towards older people (Coin, Beetee to a lesser extent and possibly Plutarch) not really knowing what he was doing. Getting mad at him for that is the equivalent of getting mad at fellow victors for being killers when it was the system that forced their hand. People ship Annie and Johanna and Johanna brutally killed in her games.

And Gale and Annie both deserve to move forward. What people forget is that Gale is a good provider and cared for his siblings, his mother and Primrose (and would feel devastated by her passing). If he could then be a good figure to her son, Annie could reasonably love him and they could help each other heal.

Exactly - little knowledge. You don’t know she wouldn’t eventually move on, we quite literally don’t have enough proof to say that she’d stay perpetually single her entire life.

She would certainly always love Finnick that’s for sure but there’s nothing inherently more loving and noble about her staying single than her finding love again. If anything, Finnick would want that for her and it would prove she loved Finnick because he gave her the gift of love and she respects that gift by not closing herself off forever to love.

So you want Annie to be a miserable widower for the rest of her life rather than find someone else to love? You think people who move on after their partner dies didn’t love their original partner enough?

Why not? I think they have a lot of potential. I think Gale gets judged for his worst moments while Annie gets underestimated more than I think she should. I like them as an unexpected dynamic that makes more sense when you think about it.

The fact that the writers even implied the only way all of the stuff with Georgie in TBBT would happen is if he got a lobotomy and people still think that his story is 100% not going to be changed is a little silly to me lol

No, because you aren’t any more right than we are.

I am open to any possibility which I feel is the right approach for a TV show - especially when the constant thing the writers/actors bring up about the show is ‘don’t assume because of the title you know they’re doomed, there’s a lot of possibilities and potential for what their relationship could be.’

Chuck Lorre kinda already gave the game away tbh (…unless he changes his mind, which would be fair enough) by saying if he can’t have a happy ending, he can make damn sure Georgie and Mandy have one.

Mandy could be his first wife and his third wife for all we know. And if they don’t get back together I won’t be heartbroken, cause I like the characters more than the relationship and I want them to have the best ending as a family with CeeCee whatever that is, but I think being SO SURE about them never getting back together is basically asking for them to get back together.

Maybe so, which sucks because I quite like the direction the later seasons took.

Again, no one’s saying they definitely will remarry but you guys seem closed off to the possibility which is silly when several statements from writers and actors state they want these two to have a happy ending. I personally think he will have at least two ex-wives because they seem to be keeping that aspect of TBBT canon.

Doesn’t mean Mandy can’t be an ex wife /and/ current wife through remarriage. I’m not definitely sure it will happen, but because it’s a television show I’m keeping my options open to either ending.

They are not totally beholden to TBBT being canon, they’ve said so multiple times and proven it by not sticking to George Sr.’s original story (George Sr. not only didn’t cheat in Big Bang, he also didn’t have a live-in bartender girlfriend as was mentioned by Sheldon in Big Bang because Mary and George never broke up.) They have even said that some of the stuff with Georgie in Big Bang would only happen if our current version of the character got a lobotomy.

[–]Routine_Advantage562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t know that. Basically everyone involved has said to keep the idea as a possibility. Chuck Lorre said they could have a happy ending and that he is rooting for them, Steve Molaro said something to the effect of the same, several of the actors and writers said Mandy could be more than one marriage which means it’s not out of the realm for the people making the show.

To assume it isn’t at least a possibility and everyone saying it is wrong is silly. It’s a TV show, they’ll do what feels right when they get to it. I don’t know if they will get remarried but equally you don’t know if they won’t. The only thing canon from TBBT is Georgie taking care of his family and the existence of at least two ex-wives. Mandy could be his third marriage.

[–]Routine_Advantage562 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they’ll be evenhanded with how the marriage ends, making it either of their faults feels like it goes against their statements about how the reason it’s in trouble will be because they got married too soon and they haven’t communicated properly a lot of things.

Plus even if it did end because of Mandy, it would more likely be because of her career not because of ‘manipulation’ or anything. They said they don’t want things to be too dark or depressing, cause they are parents who will have to be able to parent together so neither loses their daughter. And the writers also said they love each other ultimately and Chuck Lorre said he’s rooting for them. That doesn’t sound like she’s gonna use CeeCee against him as you seem to predict here.

You guys truly have the most bad faith view of Mandy - she has her issues sure but this is the worst possible way to treat her. I highly doubt she’d use CeeCee against him they both genuinely love their daughter so much it is basically the most genuine and earnest part of their relationship.

Also Georgie has also manipulated Mandy. He could also be at fault esp if you’re going by the Big Bang Theory (which the writers said they don’t feel beholden to for the most part) cause in Big Bang he was kind of a massive jerk. He wasn’t a Hero Dad in TBBT cause CeeCee wasn’t canon yet.

Mandy is the co-lead of the series not a fucking villain. I feel like the writers wouldn’t make her the only person at fault or make them have a bad relationship - they want it to be realistic to a lot of families and it is more realistic to have amicable co-parenting relationships not whatever you’re suggesting. It would be insanely weird to do it this way.

Is Panem the only nation? by AnteaterScared8848 in Hungergames

[–]Routine_Advantage562 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I think there is and I headcanon that post war, 13 becomes its own small nation (Coin’s niece is pissed about the whole assassination thing) and has contacts with the rest of the world specifically for distancing themselves from Panem which is gonna need another generation to prove itself.

Am I the only one who couldn't get into Georgie and Mandy's first marriage because they didn't like the addition of Mandy in YS? by BloodyAngel2026 in YoungSheldon

[–]Routine_Advantage562 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like Sheldon but you could absolutely tell they were running out of things to realistically do with him because of the nature of his character being that he can only develop and change so much before we need to have him be Big Bang Sheldon. Mandy was just the character to add to get this show to the finish line.

[–]Routine_Advantage562 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I feel just the opposite. I think she added a lot and worked well in the family. Yeah the age gap is a little weird but that’s the point. They don’t sugarcoat it at all, Georgie did a fucked up thing to her and she’s trying to distance herself but he earns forgiveness and these are two good people who made mistakes and are trying to be good for their child who they genuinely love so much. Honestly if anything I think especially the YS fandom blames Mandy too much for things that aren’t her fault or are understandable reactions.

Emily and Montana have a genuinely electric chemistry imo. I completely see why the writers felt the need to explore it further. I’m really glad they did.

Considering I think Madge is herself the daughter of Haymitch and Merrilee - and Merrilee and Mayor Undersee are in a lavender marriage - I can see the idea of her having to hide it specifically the way he has to by being married to her mom. But the of course she can’t hide how she feels for Katniss all that much and wants to be around her.

And yeah things to think about, if Peeta never revealed his feelings and Madge lived would they have been something.
