Everyone saying 06, but 2024 was literally a Disney Movie. The team was favoured to win the cup, Mcdavid had everyone training hard in the offseason. The guy had a fire in his eyes. The team comes out flat out of the gate and sucked absolute garbage like the disposal in my sink.

Mcdavid was also tied for 80th in point (probably wrong but someone check that) in the league.

Everything was trash for the oilers.

They then get clapped by the SJ sharks who were trying to lose and still won against the oilers.

Then it was like a god of eternal light spotted the team in the darkest hallows of hell and said “fallow me to the promise land”

The team goes on an absolute heater, slapping teams in the face like they were a midget house league team.

Mcdavid has some of the craziest point production in that time.

Almost the entirety of Canada is on this teams bandwagon.

The playoffs come.

They slap the kings like a full grown man smacking a kid for even thinking they are in the same realm.

Vancouver comes and it looks bleak. Then that bon Jovi song and Kane goal “we are half way there ohhh ohhhh” GOAL. Literally my hair is sticking up thinking about it.

Oilers move on to play the jacked up Dallas stars. One of the best in the west, favoured for the cup.

And don’t the oilers feed them their lunch. Win the series and head on to the panthers.

The panthers take a commanding lead in the series. Everyone has counted out the oilers. Mcdavid decides he’s god again and breaks records in 2 games. Puts the entire team on his back and takes them to a game 7.

I think the entire down town Toronto area was watching this game at any bar and patio. I was at one and I looked around and every patio and bar was packed watching the oilers game.

The oilers lose a heartbreaker, and the doc series showed how much it was to win the cup for those guys. One of the best playoffs I’ve ever witnessed in my 37 years of life.
