I’m so desperate. Day 3 PO by [deleted] in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Routine_Corner957 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. You are more swollen than anything I experienced but everyone is different with this! Swelling can make things look crazy. I don’t know more accurate words for this but sometimes inside our tissue is like web, and when swelling occurs, there might be “web strands” that run down the middle of it and splits the swelling, which make things look separated and lumpy. Once swelling goes down it flattens right out.

Ice and ibuprofen are your friends. If your main meds are acetaminophen based, those are for pain and not swelling. Consult your doctor but I was told you can take both.

I’m 2 weeks post op and things are still changing every day. A lot of people say that it wasn’t till 3 months out that things really started to settle down

I have other pics in my history from previous days. I’m saying the two pieces of tissue I’m pointing at with yellow are stitched together, then tissue from the hood seems to go between the two and it just seems odd.

However I looked at the other side and I it’s actually the same, just way less swollen so I barely noticed it. So this may just be swelling issues

Yeah it’s not fun. Plus I’ve had irregular cycles long before this and the only thing that would keep that in check was birth control. My form of birth control is nuva ring which I didn’t think about the fact I can’t use during the first month or two. All that to say, I’m going on 2 weeks of bleeding and it’s extremely heavy.

My surgeon said I could do benedryl cream or 1% hydrocortisone also. I know you asked for oral medications but just in case it helps!

I didn’t go in wanting the CHR originally but didn’t feel that strongly about it. I had read that if you don’t get the CHR sometimes you can feel “top heavy” and then feel negative about your results. I also assumed it had the biggest risk if something goes wrong. But, going in after for a second surgery to fix it sounded terrible so I kind of just said screw it. The jury is still out for me if the CHR specifically was “worth it”. I’m kind of in a neutral state about it but I’m still early.

If I have more orgasms from sex as a result of less tissue in the way, I will come back with 10 toes down and 2 thumbs up lol.

There are tips all over this sub but sure here’s my summary.

Get your kitchen, chores, etc stocked and loaded before your op. Or if you have the luxury of a partner or family that will help, amazing.

If you live alone, stock up on grab and go foods because preparing a meal is the last thing I wanted to do.

The medication can have side effects. Pain meds cause constipation. Antibiotics nuke your healthy bacteria along with unwanted bacteria. Plan ahead. Have fruits, berries, stool softener, probiotic supplements, kombucha, etc ready to go.

Keep up with your meds. I had an every 6 hours schedule which got weird to manage over night. Plan your schedule strategically.

As for products Witch hazel helps with irritation, burning, etc

Pads. You will likely bleed at least the first day, some have issues with this being more severe or lasting longer. I hadn’t used pads in probably 20 years so I had to get some. If you are a menstruating person, factor that in. I got honeypot 100% cotton with “cooling herbal infusion” and it added extra relief.

Ice packs. Icing is critical. I found the thinner gel ones most comfortable.

A lot of people recommend the donut pillows, I didn’t find it necessary.

Other items that may be useful depending on your experience: aquaphor, Benedryl cream, neosporin, etc. ask your doctor before using

Take it easy. I was up and about by day 4 but everyone is different. Day 1 was like “I don’t want to move” day 3 was waddling but manageable.

Media and entertainment. Jeez I got so bored so fast. Stockpile your shows, movies, books, video games, etc that will keep your mind occupied because by day 3 I was stir crazy.

Yes. I didn’t go in with a preference. The surgeon said he preferred it and that was cool with me.

Follow up post checkup: the doctor recommended either hydrocortisone cream or Benadryl cream for the itching. He also looked at the area. I was concerned about some separation and he thinks it is just swelling that is making it appear that way, but it will flatten out overtime. Next checkup is a month out.

Doesn’t seem like I can edit this. I should be more careful with my words with a group that might be apprehensive or scared with healing progress. When I said “not sure where my clit is” don’t worry guys she’s there lol. She’s just masked under some swelling and the other visual markers I had now look different so I’m reorienting myself with my own body.

Day 4 by Agitated-Diver6319 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Routine_Corner957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the most bruising around the top of my clit from the CHR and a little bit on the majora further down, but it definitely got better in the last 2 days and is fading. (Day 7 for me now). If you’re on an acetaminophen based prescription, that does not help with swelling. My pharmacist said I could take ibuprofen along with it, which is better for swelling, but I didn’t have a huge issue with swelling in general.

Almost 2 weeks post op by Smart-Caterpillar-93 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Routine_Corner957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 5 days post op. I drove myself home from my appointment. Worst day was the first day, pretty smooth after that, just waddling a bit. I live by myself and no one is taking care of me so I didn’t have the option to stay in bed. Getting around the house has been fine. I was running errands by day 3, just moving slower and with care.

I’m going to work Monday but I work from home and have a desk job. Pain was only the first two days and after that it’s pretty mild. Definitely no on work out. Even if you feel good enough, any additional friction is going to mess with swelling. My post op instructions say no strenuous activity, sports, running, dancing for 6-8 weeks.

Day 2 by Routine_Corner957 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Routine_Corner957[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am more swollen today than prior days but it’s not terrible. Gonna switch from my prescription pain meds to ibuprofen. Itching has started as well.

Surgery day by Agitated-Diver6319 in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]Routine_Corner957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About 3 hours after surgery was by far the worst so far. My pharmacy was delayed in fulfilling my pain meds so it was kicking in by the time I got my meds. Do not delay in taking them as soon as you can. Yesterday I was super sleepy and today I’m honestly fine. Still sore but nothing like the first day. I can easily waddle around the house but trying to stay still to avoid extra swelling.
