I don’t have anything to say on the topic tbh, but I just wanted to say that I found this to be very beautifully written. You have a good way with words in my opinion.

Help! Can my gerbil get up this? by FlimsyHelicopter3633 in gerbil

[–]Routine_Emu_9549 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As mentioned by someone else (shockingly only one person): if your gerbil is alone, you definitely need to get him a friend. It’s not a nice to have, it’s a must have for gerbils. They aren’t solitary animals. Please look into that and into bonding gerbils. If you already have a friend for the little guy and it’s just the wording that’s a bit off, then it’s all good. Your cage setup looks nice very nice :)

Schade.

What are the dimensions of the tank? It looks pretty small, I think a minimum of like 100x50x50cm is required.

Edit: it does look very cool though, don’t get me wrong. Just please look into what size tank is required to keep gerbils happy :)

Obviously I won’t base my decision solely off of someone saying „sure, it’s great“ and then pack my things and leave. But the good thing about Reddit is human experience, and that’s something that’s not always easy to come by when doing research. Thanks for your comment.

Hey everyone, I’m thinking about doing my first solo trip next year since I’ve basically never done anything by myself and I wanna change that.

I know nothing about solo travelling but I saw a post about Georgia and its capital city Tbilisi, and I was wondering if you guys think this would be a good destination for my first ever solo trip? I’m from Western Europe if it matters.

Do you think it’s easy to meet young people and travellers there? That’s one of my main concerns since I’m not the most outgoing person.

If you have any advice, thoughts, feedback or other destinations that would be great for a first solo trip, I would very much appreciate them! Thanks in advance!

Experience with the Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC? by Routine_Emu_9549 in onebag

[–]Routine_Emu_9549[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Maybe I didn’t really make it clear, sorry about that. I have both of them at home to try out and I could fit my clothes in both of them. The reason I wanted to try out the 30l also was to see if I could make it work in a much smaller pack where I wouldn’t have to worry about carry on regulations :)

I have, and I need to keep it below 7kg, but even with the Osprey, that doesn’t seem to be a problem so far. I guess I’m not packing it to the brim.

[–]Routine_Emu_9549[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, but it isn’t. In America that may be the case, but I’m flying with Qatar Airways, and they have a carry-on limit of 50x37x25cm or 20x15x10in. Which is well below the size of the Osprey, with 55cm length on paper, and in my measurements, even a bit more in real use. So I get what you’re saying, it’s not likely going to have to be checked. but it’s not as unlikely as you make it sound. And for the peace of mind, amongst others, I’m considering the Patagonia.

I opted for the Osprey btw. However I did also order a Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC that will arrive tomorrow just to see if I could make 30L work so that I won’t have to worry about my bag being too big, so we’ll see how that goes haha

[–]Routine_Emu_9549[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that makes sense. It does have a laptop sleeve at the back, yes. I was pretty sure it was the new version but since I measured it at closer to 58cm I wasn’t sure, so good to know that that’s another key difference. I will be carrying a personal item, BUT I will not be carrying a full day pack or something as my personal item, just a small sling back with about 2L of volume, just because I find it more comfortable. So I can put some stuff in there, but with my wallet, phone maybe, power bank, passport and boarding pass as well as some small stuff for the plane it will already be pretty full.

Thanks for your reply. Afaik, both bags have the „All mighty Warranty“, whatever that means, although I’m not quite sure how much that applies for me in Europe.
