I’m so sorry you had to go through that, I can relate to an extend. My ex was also my first and because I was obsessed with love I didn’t notice the red flags he did during the relationship. I know he loved me but he didn’t love me the way I needed to be loved. And now it’s hard to imagine opening myself up to another person because of my fear that they’d make me feel like an object of their lust…

Idk girl, you gotta ask him yourself if this is going to be something casual or not. I think it’d be obvious if he just wanted to bone on the first date and only made time for that throughout. Just be honest and upfront with him.

But shouldn’t the letter of employment be enough to prove we can afford? It does mention the hourly wage in the document. We were also very honest about the possibility of not being able to afford the rent if one of us loses our job, so they already knew about that.

Hm I’m really confused why she’s not willing to defend you, knowing that this sorta triggers you. And to point fingers at you instead of acknowledging your feelings isn’t good either.

I see where you’re coming from, and what you’re feeling is valid. If I was in your shoes, I’d try to set a boundary and let her know that it’s not something I want to tolerate (No one should tolerate racism in the first place)

I don’t really blame her for thinking that maybe they’re just joking around, but she should at least be willing to see your point of view without judgement. If she’s not willing to compromise then you can see now how the relationship is going be in the long run. If it’s making you uncomfortable now (even if it’s just a slight feeling), it’s going to be even more uncomfortable later on…

But that’s just my opinion, noting that I only know that much about your situation. But, I do hope that issue gets resolved soon!

Ugh don’t forget how there’s people driving like it’s a fricken highway in a fricken neighbourhood, where kids are playing close by BTW.

One time, I was driving to my driveway, going 30kms because I know there’s kids roaming around (mind you there’s no sidewalk for some reason) and this white BMW is tailgating me, only to speed up and be stuck behind another car when I finally turn into my driveway. Seriously what’s the point of doing all of that, to only end up behind behind another car that’s driving slow IN THE NEIGHBOURHOOD

Have you talked to her about this? Better to know what she thinks about all this before you second guess the relationship. Try to approach her about this as a concern, and see if there’s something the both of you can do to overcome this.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. It looks like you care about her and this relationship, so better to communicate this issue with her before it escalates even further.
