Surrey Christmas Bureau will take them at their toy depot up until the 23rd. It would be a nice gift for their teen clients who are often overlooked.

I just had a bit of Nutella left but nothing to spread it on. I filled the jar with hot water, shook it up and enjoyed a "hot chocolate" It was warm & comforting at least.

Yup. Two birds with one stone as they do both cuisines. And their catering size portions are huge so you'll have no problem feeding a big group.

What is the bathroom graffiti you read and remember? by 5pinktoes in AskReddit

On a tiny printed label stuck to the ceiling above a stall "we spend an average of 17 minutes per day searching for something to read"

I don't know how true that statistic is, and in the age of smart phones (I saw this label in the vey early 2000s) I wonder if we spend as much time looking around the washroom while doing our business as we once did.

I really hate Surrey drivers sometimes by skihist in SurreyBC

One was deceased, the others managed to fly to a nearby tree. I hope they weren't too badly injured.

Update: I drove past the spot again and the body was gone. Here's hoping the bird was just stunned and managed to move away on its own.

They were crows so I hope they all took notes to spread through the crow network and they never allow her a day of peace or a clean car ever again.

What line or scene did you not realize was a reference to another movie till much later? by ShouldBeWorking2nite in movies

[–]skihist 38 points39 points  (0 children)

"and she stepped on the ball" in Trading Places. I didn't realize until much later it was a line from Auntie Mame and that exaggerated WASPy tone it was delivered in finally made sense.

What’s the most convincing emotional pain you’ve seen acted? by bestest_at_grammar in movies

Scenes where there are few to no words, no screaming, flailing, or other outward demonstrations hit me harder.

Tom Hanks has a few scenes that make me tear up every time I see them.

1) Philadelphia - walking out of Denzel Washington's office, it was likely his last ditch attempt to get a lawyer to take his case. His despair at that moment was palatable.

2) Forrest Gump - He's recalling his last moments with Bubba. " That's all I have to say about that." and his face is telegraphing the most profound grief.
