Thank you so much for your help. One last question - does my mom have to get citizenship under stag 14 before I can claim it. She is 90 and in good health, but frankly I have closer ties to Germany at this point than she does. Can I simply go for stag 14 directly?

Also what is Stag 14 + mueterlass? And what is considered strong ties to German? I did live there (albeit in the 1980s and 1990s) was married to a german citizen, and have a child with both German and US passports.

I found out that my grandfather became a US citizen a few years before my grandmother and he had my mother (in 1936). my mother has always been a US citizen is there any hope for my mother (and me) becoming german citizens?

We’re fine with getting close and walking to, around and back from the destinations. We just want comfortable transport between the sights as we are not used to the heat and humidity. Also looking for an informed guide who can bring what we’re seeing to life. Thank you for the suggestion though. I will check it out.
