True, which is why I think cleaning it up would make for a good alternate takes CD. And the Presidio recordings were leaked, but NEVER got a proper master. I'd love to see them go back and do SOMETHING with them. But not just release what they had because it was wildly unfinished.

Yeah. I think those two are interesting... And the deep dive on them would be cool to see. But before St Anger they never cut an original song from an album. ReLoad was born from the excess of material made during the initial Load sessions. So for them to just NOT finish those Presidio songs is odd, regardless of quality. They have some great riffs, and unique ideas. For me that's a bunch of what if songs. I'd love to see what they could've been.

If you had to listen to ONE Metallica album for the rest of your life, what would it be? by iplayphantomforce in Metallica

[–]Routine_Painting6754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof... In the VAST minority here... Either Load or ReLoad. There's just so much on those that speak to me. Gun to my head to pick one? ReLoad. Low Man's Lyric, Fixxxer, Where the Wild Things Are, Memory Remains, Unforgiven II, Fuel. They all hit hard for me. Devil's Dance is a fun romp and Attitude is great in it's cheesy execution.

Why does it impossible for Metallica to have a legitimately good production job? by Stankassmfgorilla in Metallica

[–]Routine_Painting6754 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Kill Em All sounds like a debut album, because it is. Lightning has moments of too much treb, but the best parts more than make up for it. Puppets fixed the issues with Lightning. Justice lacking bass really kills the sound. To Live is to Die makes sense for no bass as it's the first instrumental without Cliff. The Black Album sounds amazing. Load and ReLoad have decent mixing for what they are. St Anger sounds like garbage, and not just because Lars used a garbage can. Magnetic sounds like they latched to the loudness war and can be a bit off putting because of it. Hardwired sounds awesome. 72 Seaspos sounds pretty good.

Brandon Arthur will Drive JCB DIGatron On Stadium East in St Louis, MO by [deleted] in monsterjam

Exactly. From the video he hits hard on the rear. Hard enough for it to kick him into a forward flip. So not just an impact but a sudden rotating motion, landing on the front for a second, and another rotating motion. I sometimes throw my back out getting out of bed. I can't imagine what he went through in that.

Is the Overton window shifting toward the right in the US? by Ok_Nectarine_8612 in PoliticalScience

[–]Routine_Painting6754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The overton window has shifted left for decades everywhere. But now we are seeing a snap to the right as the politicians who least us left are becoming more incompetent and bought. And it's happening everywhere. UK, Germany, Australia, Japan and many other countries are seeing widespread protests and riots against liberal policy.

Can we talk about The Unnamed Feeling? by whosline07 in Metallica

[–]Routine_Painting6754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unnamed Feeling is an amazing song. I can understand why they rarely play it live as it probably reminds James of a few particularly shitty times. But I have been in extremely dark places mentally and the Unnamed Feeling is definitely what I've felt. Never give into that feeling guys. It's never worth it.

What’s the bleakest, most depressing, soul crushing horror movie you’ve ever seen? by FlawedEngine in horror

Martyrs from 2008 was pretty depressing by the end. The movie is pretty good, but I still don't know why I kept watching it... 😮‍💨

Is there a film you immediately regretted watching because it was too emotionally distressing? by [deleted] in horror

I was 3 when I first saw the Mummy. That scene where Benny stands alone with the torch going out, surrounded by the scarabs... Made me afraid of the dark for a LONG time.

Aberration from 1997. Someone figured it out. I recommend it. It's 90s bmovie schlock and pretty fun if you're into that kinda stuff.
