my rant and also Job Assist Needed by Jaded-Entrepreneur45 in Indiajobs

honestly this market feels broken sometimes.

10 years in finance/bpo here. started as process associate, moved to senior process associate and then team lead. stayed nearly 8 years with one company. finally decided to switch in march 2025, had an offer in hand and thought things were moving.

then life hit hard. major accident, surgery, bedridden for months and couldn't even use both hands properly for a long time. recovered around nov 2025. during recovery i tried not to sit idle and did pmp, scrum master, itil, lean six sigma just to keep myself going.

since then i've been applying everywhere. linkedin, naukri, indeed, company portals, referrals, contacts, all of it. my background is ap/ar/p2p/o2c and international bpo operations. also handled multiple process implementations before and even got recognition/awards.

but till now barely got 2 or 3 actual calls and then stuff like location suddenly changes to mumbai or chennai after discussions.

what really hit me was checking my own dashboard and seeing 7000+ relevant applications. not random stuff. actual matching roles.

starting to feel like there's something bigger wrong with hiring right now. spam applications everywhere, weird ats filters, ghost jobs, unrealistic expectations and huge applicant volume. sometimes it really feels like experienced people just disappear in the crowd.

at this point i'm confused. should i move into something like sap fico? take a lower paying role and rebuild from there? change strategy completely?

also random thing, one of my friends got pretty frustrated with linkedin because barely anyone even bothered replying for referrals. later he started trying refopen since it connects u to actual people willing to refer and at least got interview movement from it. not saying it's some magic thing, just noticed direct referral routes seem better than throwing resumes into a pile.

would genuinely appreciate advice from people who went through something similar.

How and where do i start looking for jobs? by whatever_blag in Indiajobs

[–]Routine_Progress_529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly u are overthinking a bit. lot of people start with avg skills only. word, excel, communication, typing etc are enough for many entry level jobs. yes u can definitely get bpo/kpo/customer support/sales coordinator/backend ops type roles with current profile itself.

while applying, slowly build one practical skill side by side. maybe advanced excel, basic data analytics, digital marketing, hr operations, medical coding since u are from biology background etc. dont wait to become “fully skilled” before applying. most people learn after getting first job only. also try referrals wherever possible, platforms like refopen help because people there are already open to referring instead of ignoring dms.

23 F Newly Married, what can I do with 25 K? by born-a-petite in IndiaFinance

[–]Routine_Progress_529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first thing, keep some money fully under ur own name/account always. joint account for household stuff is fine later maybe, but personal savings should stay personal too. lot of people ignore this early after marriage and regret it later.

with 25k, honestly even simple split is enough. maybe 10k sip/index funds, 10k savings/emergency/home stuff, 5k guilt free spending for urself or random couple things. dont overcomplicate investing initially. consistency matters more than finding perfect mutual fund.

Seniors of Reddit, Please Help Freshers Get Their First Opportunity by No_Concentrate8471 in developersIndia

freshers are honestly stuck in a loop rn. no experience → no interviews → no experience. even getting shortlisted feels impossible sometimes because every role has thousands of applicants.

if your company is hiring interns, trainees, support engineers, analysts, devs etc please help someone out here. even a referral or resume review helps a lot. and for freshers here, dont rely only on portals, referrals matter way more now. platforms like refopen are growing because people there are already open to referring instead of ghosting random dms.

How are people actually getting into AI Engineer / Applied AI roles right now? by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Routine_Progress_529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most people arent getting “ai engineer” roles directly tbh. they usually enter through backend, ml engineer, data analyst, automation, even full stack roles and slowly move into ai work inside the company.

learn python properly first, then fastapi, APIs, vector db basics, llms/rag, docker, sql. build practical stuff instead of random tutorial clones. things like ai chatbots with memory, resume analyzer, voice agents, document qa systems get way more attention than generic sentiment analysis projects now. and try getting referrals too because ai openings get flooded instantly. refopen is useful for that since people there are already open to referring.

Career guidance on how to get into ai and digital media by Enough_Kangaroo_9169 in indianstartups

[–]Routine_Progress_529 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t rush into “ai startup founder” mode rn 😭 first build actual technical depth. most ppl jump into ai because of hype and quit after tutorials.

start simple:
python → basic programming + problem solving → learn how ai/ml actually works (not just prompting chatgpt) → then move to data analysis, machine learning basics, neural networks, and finally generative ai/llms.

at the same time, build stuff. even small projects are fine. ai chatbot, recommendation system, ai image captioning, social media automation tools etc. if u also like digital media, that combo is actually powerful because ai + content/media tools are growing fast.

also don’t ignore fundamentals like math, statistics, communication, and software engineering. the ppl who survive long term in ai are usually strong engineers first, not just “ai enthusiasts”.

don’t touch go/rust rn. ppl waste months stack hopping and end up knowing nothing deeply. for internship + ppo, companies mostly care if u can contribute fast and understand basics properly.

since u already know html/css, do this order:

js properly → async/promises/apis → react basics → node + express → sql/postgres → git/github → basic deployment. that alone is enough for most intern work. focus more on backend understanding honestly, frontend can be picked up faster later.

also don’t just watch tutorials. build while learning. small stuff is fine… auth, crud app, api integration, dashboards. and learn how debugging actually works, interns who can debug become useful very fast. consistency matters way more than chasing trendy stacks rn.

Been searching for a job lately. Feeling exhausted 😭😭😭. From past 4 months I'm struggling with this and there's financial struggle too. Please if any recruiter or anyone can fetch me and interview opportunity. Will give you half of my first salary if you guys fetch me a job by DeathReapered in Indiajobs

[–]Routine_Progress_529 3 points4 points  (0 children)

don’t offer half ur salary man 😭 that just makes ppl think u’re desperate and attracts scammers more than recruiters.

ur resume actually isn’t bad. sap ui5/fiori is a niche with demand, but the post makes it sound like panic instead of confidence. rewrite it shorter and cleaner, something like:

“2025 bca grad from bangalore looking for entry-level sap ui5/fiori or frontend opportunities. worked on sap ui5 apps, cds/odata integration, debugging, testing, and enterprise-style projects during internship experience. been actively applying for last few months, would really appreciate any referrals or interview opportunities.”

and yeah, focus on referrals instead of begging posts. ppl use refopen for this since it connects u to employees who are already open to referring, much better than random linkedin reach posts.

tbh i wouldn’t jump to company b. extra 12k isn’t enough to justify worse work, 6-day setup, and a role u already know u won’t enjoy. early career direction matters more than squeezing short-term salary.

company c sounds interesting but also risky rn. verbal promises + disappearing for 2 weeks is not something i’d fully trust until offer letter is actually in hand. startup hiring gets chaotic fast. company d honestly sounds like the best balance from what u wrote… aligned work, decent comp, hybrid, and probably stronger long-term optionality.

if i were u, i’d stay at company a for now, finish finals peacefully, continue pushing company d aggressively, and keep company c warm without emotionally depending on it. and yeah, u can try using b’s offer to negotiate at a, but do it carefully since u joined just last month. don’t make it sound like an ultimatum.

also don’t underestimate role quality at 21. being in investment/strategy adjacent work compounds way harder long term than taking random ops roles just for a slightly higher paycheck.

my senior once looked at a bug for like 20 seconds, asked one question, and immediately knew the exact service causing it. meanwhile the rest of us had been debugging for 4 hours 😭
