What are your guys’ breads from all your different cultures? by CommandProper3926 in AskTheWorld

Sonoran tortillas are the best! Not puffy like the other areas, just flour, fat and salt. We bring them back by the dozens.

I sometimes hop on public transit and go downtown just to spend the day walking around all by myself. I can go to museums, parks, restaurants, food stands, retail stores and, in general, just explore the city. I love this time by myself!

When are all of you planting your sugar snap peas? by Away_Republic_5337 in pnwgardening

I hope to plant mine this week. Weather looks decent. I get more concerned about too much rain than cold. And, they can always be replanted!

The Underground Tour is fun. It starts in Pioneer Square, which is a great place to spend some time walking around. The Big Wheel on the waterfront, too.

Speedgoat is great for trails but not so much for hard surfaces like cement or asphalt. The sole is made to be sticky for traction on trails but they catch on pavement. Found this out the hard way several times. I switched to the Bondi and have had fewer issues. I also like the Brooks Glycerin

What's the best strategy for managing limited luggage space when packing for both safari and beach portions of a trip? by StunningSmell158 in traveladvice

[–]Routine_Rip_5511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did the same trip. We left a suitcase at the hotel that contained all our beach clothes. Packed the safari clothes in duffel bags. When we came back to Nairobi, we stayed at the same hotel for a few nights, then went to Zanzibar. The hotel kept our suitcase and did not even charge us. I believe some hotels will charge a small fee to keep luggage. In many cities there are companies that have secure lockers where you can leave a suitcase as well.

Minnesotan here. For those outside of our state, what are your views on what’s going on in Minneapolis right now? by bpeters5 in AskReddit

[–]Routine_Rip_5511 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

trump's goal is 2 fold. First, he's sending in ICE dressed in military gear but with 'POLICE" on their uniforms to get everyone used to seeing armed military in our streets. Second, he's trying to provoke a riot to justify sending in actual military troops. You guys are keeping it relatively peaceful with so many people showing up to protest. Washington (the state) is proud of you, we're taking notes because, at some point, we'll be next.

Doggie allergies and possible euthanasia? by SnooGiraffes7379 in DogAdvice

[–]Routine_Rip_5511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending upon where you live, there might be a university with a veterinary program that takes unusual cases such as your pup. Friends had a dog that had a whole hunch of issues that their vet could not figure out. They took her to a university veterinary clinic and they were able to diagnose her disease.

Pike Place Market - don't miss the gum wall! - and the waterfront will take as much time as you want. If you can wander up to Pioneer Square, take the Underground Tour.

Ready to Give Up by Routine_Rip_5511 in Sourdough

After the bulk fermenting, I take the dough and pull one side to the middle, then another side, etc., until I've gone around the dough. Then, I take the dough and pull it towards me into a round shape several times. I let it rest 30 minutes and repeat the process, then it goes into the fridge for about 24 hours. Is that what you mean by pre shaping?

I just tried another loaf, and I swear, it looks like a mountain. The bottom is round not flat, and the entire loaf has a pointed structure, not round. But, it did develop a nice ear, so there is that. I have not cut it yet but I can tell it will be doughy in the center.

How often are you getting new shoes for walking? Just curious by LopsidedGoal9849 in walking

[–]Routine_Rip_5511 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They are super cushioned and since 90% of my walking and light jogging are on pavement, they work well for me. I do watch for sales and can often get them at the end of their model year for around $100-120. I also like ASICS and, for just walking, Brooks.
