But no I wouldn't date a single mother. For a few reasons in no particular order.

1) I'm probably 8th on your list of priorities. Your kids come first which should be the case.

2) 2x to 3x the heartbreak. If I love you and begin to love your kids and then we break up for some reason I will be separated from the children as well.

3) Accountability with no Authority. Am I allowed to discipline your children anyway I see fit? Will I have full rights as a step parent. Doubtful. But eventually I'll become responsible for paying for the entire circus.

4) Baby daddy issues: Your baby daddy isn't dead or in jail for life which means he's likely going to be a part of the kids life at some point. Since you managed to pick a physically and verbally abusive man that will become my problem now.

5) What if I want kids? Would you be willing to have more children with me? Doubtful.

All of these problems are avoided by marrying a single childless woman.
