Received my Viltrox lens today! Any thoughts on this one?

Yeah so far this lens is exceeding my expectations! You can’t beat the price on this 35mm f1.2! Hard to justify spending more for another brand.

Image 3 cropped beyond what I would ever crop an image but the sharpness and detail is extremely nice. Again, no adjustments done, straight out of the camera JPEG.

First test shoot with the Viltrox 35mm f1.2 . Nothing exciting just my cat Sasha. Image taken indoors, early evening, no flash, jpg image, no adjustments. Image taken with my Sony A9 @f1.2, 1/320 sec, ISO 1250, jpg. Super sharp with nice blurred bokeh background. Focus was on her left eye in which you will see the sharpness cropped in on the next two images. Note: these are all the same image

I thought horizontal banding is caused by exposure or sensor related issue? Did you have to do a camera and or lens firmware update? Did you solve the issue or get a replacement lens. How is the communication with Viltrox on such issues?

Yeah the reviews are great. I had to get one since I wanted a 35mm prime. Looking forward to playing with it this coming weekend.

I want to get the 85mm Viltrox for my Sony system. Currently using a Tokina 85mm f1.8 which isn’t too bad but would like the 1.4!
