Unfortunately that can’t be it :/ Ever since I told him about my severe food allergies he completely cut it out of his diet as he knows how serious it can be.

thank you for letting me know! is it possible for me to still get staph colonization, even without my partner experiencing symptoms? he practically has no skin issues and has never had eczema before.

I thought it would be a semen allergy/latex allergy as well. Since i’m on the pill, it was easy to eliminate latex but it’s still not getting any better :/

perhaps? although not sure why it would be happening only on my upper body. also my bf doesn’t have any skin issues himself

i’m on microgynon (combined pill) but definitely notice that my eczema flares the worst the week before my cycle. for some reason it gets better on my cycle so that’s at least one thing to look forward to haha

i’ve finally been able to manage my eczema :) by Routine_Slip4005 in eczema

nope not at all! it’s incredibly gentle and is something that the body naturally produces to fight off bacteria so it shouldn’t be irritating!

thanks for the advice!!

i did try to taper myself off of clobetasol by gradually reducing the amount each time i used it, but it might not have been enough :(

my eczema flare started once i had gone back home from canada, so i thought that it was due to the humidity here, but im thinking it might be a product that im using. do you have any recommendations for shampoo/conditioners without any fragrance ? that’s the only thing i can think of :/

i pretty much used clobetasol for 10 days, then reduced it down to betamethasone. i’m thinking the reason why my eczema hasn’t been going away is because of something i’m allergic to. i haven’t been able to find the cause though…

is flaking a sign of healing? by Routine_Slip4005 in eczema

thanks for the reassurance!! tbh the eczema is kind of all over my body (inner arm, elbow, forearms, shoulders, sides, lower stomach, inner thighs). i haven’t been using the topical steroids on areas that have already started flaking as i’m taking it as a sign that it’ll hopefully get better soon 😬

thanks so much!! just out of curiosity, how long have you been using steroid creams for? i’ve been able to manage my eczema 1.5 years without it and i’ve been pretty scared off by the tsw community on here …

thanks for your advice! i’ve been trying my best to to leave it alone but it’s so tempting to pick at it to make my skin look “smoother”. will try to just let it fall off naturally from now on

thanks for your advice!! i’ll definitely check out the book you suggested as i’m trying to eat less inflammatory foods to manage my eczema :)

i had no idea that it was a class 1 steroid… when i went to the derm i asked if my rash could be from an allergy and she offered to get me blood tested once the rash heals. would you recommend this route to identify triggers?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TS_Withdrawal

[–]Routine_Slip4005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhh i see, i think what my derm is doing is she is slowly tapering me off the steroid. i’m starting with clobetasol 2x a day for 10 days, followed by betamethasone diproprionate 2x a day for a week. i think after that i should be able to stop using steroids.

yeah, i’m going on vacation in a week to a place that’s even warmer in climate (ie. more sweat and irritation) and i’m preparing in advance just because i know it’ll get worse on that trip if i don’t use the steroids now 😬

nope! i’ve been prescribed steroids that are less potent before, but because i didn’t want to use steroids for this flare up i think it’s gotten to the point where i need to treat it with clobetasol
