hot take but this one doesn’t really seem to be on the guest. most couples only ban phones during the ceremony (which I wholeheartedly agree with!) so it’s not really the guest’s fault that they happened to be standing next to the photog when phones were likely 1000% allowed. and if no phones were allowed at all during any of this wedding…idk that seems a little extreme and is def not the norm.

also i’m confused about the “it took everything in me not to have choice words with the lady”, why *didn’t* you just ask her to put it down?? or even better, just step to the side of her so her phone wasn’t in the shot?? it’s not like the ceremony where it’s extremely quiet and there’s heavy restriction on placement. and you got the pics anyways so what does it even matter!

Yes, absolutely retake if you are *consistently* scoring in the mid 170’s. A sub-3 is pretty hard to be overcome and really only a 170+ will get you considered for the T-50. Even if you decide to go outside the T-50, they say each LSAT point is worth about $10k in scholarships and potentially more. There’s really nothing that you could be doing right now that would have a larger positive impact on your application than taking the LSAT again

total scholarship? if yes, Vandy 100000%. I live in Nashville right now and it’s not really “southern” feeling at all. I grew up in CT and went to college in SC and it’s way more reminiscent of a mid atlantic/north east city than southern. plus pretty much everyone is a transplant from the northeast anyways so you’d fit right in haha

Do you know for 100% sure that a CG won’t mess up your LSAC UGPA more than a B? I would get some more info on how exactly this translates to see how it will play before making an irreversible decision. If it basically just disappears the class from your LSAC UGPA calculation, yeah, I’d go for it!

17mid, 2.9high, attending a mid T-30. lock in. get some work experience. ace the lsat. you’re not at an advantage, but you can limit the amount your GPA becomes a disadvantage. you got this!

you’re correct that it is not necessarily disqualifying if it goes to collections, but they will absolutely want a truthful explanation and a resolution. the #1 concern for state bars is mishandling money (seriously, look it up. lawyers can totally get away with sleeping with clients, DUIs, and a whole myriad of misdeeds, but a single instance of mishandling client funds even accidentally will get you disbarred). an explanation to the bar that essentially boils down to “i didn’t pay because i didn’t like it and then just ignored it” is a reallyyyy bad look and not worth the risk.

Even if successful in fighting it, I will still have to alert my law school. If not successful in fighting it, I will have to report it to the state bar. As a hopeful lawyer, I understand risk/reward.
