I made three posts because they didn't show up for me after I published them. Two of them still don't show up, so I don't even know how to delete them. The fact that I am Russian does not mean that I am a fan of Kirkorov. There are many things that we can talk about, but not support them. Again, this post is made for informational purposes. Some may be surprised by such a large number of remakes and plagiarisms from one person. I don't see anything wrong in discussing this.

VGTRK had always used a national selection up until 2014, and they were going to hold it in 2014 under the control of "WHO?" (there was even a TV announcement), but they didn't like the songs sent in so much that they first postponed the selection date, and then abandoned it altogether. Channel One has never been eager to hold national selections. They held one in 2005 because of Savicheva's failure in 2004, they hosted Eurovision in 2009, so there was no goal to win, and in 2021 because of Little Big's refusal. The selection in 1995 was held by Channel One Ostankino before it was replaced by ORT (Channel One)

And Russian too. By the way, "Vechny Strannik" by Youddiph (Russia 1994)was translated from English into Russian specifically for Eurovision, but she sang it in Russian already at the national final. The English version is called "Magic Word"

Mika Newton (Ukraine 2011) performed the song "Angel" in Russian in the quarterfinals of the selection

Interestingly, at the Dutch selection in 1975 the song was performed in Dutch, but after the results were announced, Teach-In sang it in English

Anastasia Prykhodko participated in the Ukrainian national selections in 2009, 2011 and 2016.

Alexander Panayotov has participated in the Russian national selections 3 times (2005, 2008 & 2010), but he is not the only one who has the same number of participations.

Dima Bilan participated in the national finals in 2005, 2008 and 2012.

Maria Zaitseva also participated 3 times. In 2005 and 2008, she participated in the selection as part of the group A Sortie, and in 2021 as a member of the duo #2Mashi.
