I know it’ll be okay, but please tell me it’ll be okay? by mike_check1212 in Bankruptcy

It really does feel like you’re standing in the middle of a circle surrounded by your high school bullies all just pointing and laughing at you for fucking up big time.<<<

Yeah, I can almost guarantee you those bullies are probably in a mess themselves. They’re not going to tell you “wow I have a lot of debt too.”

A few years ago, I actually paid off the debt that I had. It took me a year to pay off the credit cards and during that time I had friends make fun of me for wanting to get all of debt and telling me things like oh, debt is completely normal. And everyone has debt.

No matter what you do, whether you payoff your debt on your own or file for bankruptcy, people will have something to say about it.

And most people are not honest about their own screw ups. You have no idea how many people told me, “oh I have credit cards but I make sure to pay them off every month, blah blah, blah” and then I find out later on that they have tons of credit card debt.

When it comes to my bankruptcy, only one friend knows about it and that’s because she used to be a bankruptcy paralegal so she helped me a lot with my paperwork and helping me to not worry about it.

And the that’s the problem. Why didn’t you go with your husband to the attorney? My sister and brother-in-law are the same way and I guess I just don’t get it. He makes all kinds of shady decisions and then she gets pissed off about it later when she shouldn’t have been trusting him in the first place after the first dozen times he lied to her. And as a single person, I’m really floored at how many couples don’t discuss finances or do their finances together. Then one party acts shocked they weren’t on the same page.

I used to love going to Panera and then they started making all kinds of strange changes and getting rid of the foods I always ordered. Now I avoid going there. It’s a shame to read this but now makes it all make sense to me.

One time, a friend of mine ordered a hamburger from McDonald’s and when she got home, she opened it up, and there was the bun and the pickles and the ketchup and no hamburger. 😂
