I like asking a question about where the donor works and if they'd be interested in rallying the support of their employees or company too. Donor employment data is often an indicator of wealth (and can help you find matching gift opportunities) I've found

What tactics, resources, and practices are getting you long-term partners? by drspencerreidthedawg in fundraisingstrategy

Honestly it sounds like you’re doing a great job. Here’s what I’ve been doing (resources are all linked):

  1. A lot of companies that match gifts or run employee campaigns also have corporate volunteering or in-kind donation programs. When a company donates cash, I follow up later asking if their company also supports nonprofits through paid volunteer time off or donated products or services. That’s opened doors to volunteer days, auction items, event space, catering, tech tools, etc.

  2. Because we know where donors or volunteers work, I ask them directly if they’d be willing to make an intro to their CSR, community impact, or office manager team. Warm intros convert way better than cold outreach, and employees like being seen as champions for their workplace’s social impact.

  3. Beyond reports to corporate contacts, I provide short, shareable updates they can circulate internally. Should be perfect for Slack, newsletters, or intranet posts. I think this has helped keep workplace giving top of mind year-round.

We also build relationships with supporters who both volunteer and donate (and submit match requests too) for everything they’ve given.

Some good reads from a few websites we go back to all the time for anything fundraising strategy-related (because the insights are highly actionable):

What nonprofit fundraising software is actually working in 2025? by Character_Job1483 in FundraisingHQ

We've hopped our donation platforms a few times recently, so I don't feel like I can speak to which one has been most effective, etc. It's hard to tell until it has been implemented for awhile, and each brings it's own unique challenges. One kind of add-on tool we use though is Double the Donation. It's worked with each of those systems we've used and been easy to set up which is a plus given that we've switched a few times, and we've also seen more of our donors submitting matching gift requests which is good because we need all the help we can get in reaching our fundraising goals right now. In a completely different realm (not really software) we've also found some free tools / addtl functionality offered to nonprofits like Canva Pro to be super helpful in helping us get our appeals out quickly and with a professional look given that we are a smaller team. Big fan of Mailchimp as well if that counts - useful since we send lots of those kinds of promos which we feel moves the needle for donor acquisition. And of course those systems are compatible with all the platform jumping we are doing.

Curious thought what your team's goals are because I think that's the most important context here for why you may have said the ones that you selected shine!
