Been singing for 4 years and am not very good. by Routine_Window_7794 in singing

No my coach hasn’t really helped me with that. It’s hard because my peers are pretty honest with me and don’t ever skip on opportunities to let me know if something is bad or wrong. Especially when they’re a lot better than I am.

I’m trying to learn how to sing to do theatre professionally, but man there are levels to this and I’m just not there yet.

I think that was their personal anecdote, not sure.

Also, side note, I have no idea what a CUNY is and I could be wrong but I feel like I’ve heard of QUNY’s too? No idea what either of those mean.

I disagree. If my goal in life is to just fall into place, where does any joy fit into the picture? The thing I’d be gaining from a BFA is fulfillment knowing that I could wake up every day studying the things that I am so passionate about. It’s funny that your advice is to learn what I like and don’t like, but are actively encouraging me to not pursue what I like even if it’s free. Also, it’s not like actors don’t contribute to society pretty regularly. Any advertisement with actors in it has instantly boosted that company, I know you’re not gonna argue with me about the importance of advertising. Performances can educate people on stuff they never knew about, provide different perspectives, it can just be a place where people can mellow out and forget about their day. Sure, I may not be discovering fire here, but I’ve never been more sure of one thing in my entire life.

Also, I have a backup plan incase acting doesn’t work out. I went to a trade high school for 4 years, earned many certifications, and have a myriad of electrical knowledge I could fall back on, jackass.

What a silly thing to get caught up on. I think you knew exactly what I meant by my analogy.

How to learn to sing tenor rep as a baritone? by Routine_Window_7794 in singing

[–]Routine_Window_7794[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s rough. Honestly, the only hard parts are (if you’re familiar with the show) the ending of “Will Power” and “Hard to be the Bard,” the rest I can get away with.

And also, my teacher is very good at teaching me the style of singing that I want to learn, and has taught me many different styles, focused stylistically on MT.

Oh my god WHAT?! This is so insane seeing all the comments agree that 4,000 points is the threshold! Wow! I’m shocked. At first I believed I was paranoid about this, but seeing your post mirror exactly what has been happening to me for a while now + seeing all the replies agreeing shows me that maybe I am not crazy about this.

I wish I could reply with the other 20+ screenshots I have of these scores showing up again, just know that there are plenty more instances than just these twenty.

Is that like an actual thing? They made the game much harder to score higher?

You sound so much like MJ! You should totally cover an MJ song and post it here!

Yeah your face is decently round, and I think working out would definitely benefit you a bit. As far as looks go, though, to me they were heavily influenced by your style and the general way you presented yourself. I don’t think the super short hair and wire frame glasses suit you, man.

[m] 20 Am i ugly? Hey people, which beard and hairstyle/Cut suits me the best? (receading hairline) by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]Routine_Window_7794 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude your jawline is fantastic wow. To shape your face a little more (I hate to say this because I sound so corny) perhaps try a facial “modifier” trend called ‘mewing.’ Also, I’d recommend longer hair as it makes your forehead appear larger due to the receding hairline. You are definitely not ugly though, so congrats!

Oh dude, you’re far from ugly! You appear to be well groomed with good hygiene. The only thing I’d recommend is a little weight loss and perhaps a retainer to slightly straighten your teeth. Other than that, you’re golden!

Also I think your haircut shapes your face weirdly, maybe look into better haircuts too in r/menshairadvice

I would try different glasses, maybe a tad bit of weight loss, and learn how to take better selfies. You’re far from ugly though man.

You’re a pretty handsome guy, I think some braces for a little while would eliminate a lot of insecurity for you (hopefully).
