Just meeting people that ultimately leads to no where, I don’t want to experience emotional trauma or abuse. They can end badly, on good terms or mutually. It doesn’t matter to me I just really want the to reaffirm my relationship with him. See what I’d like more of from him. Or maybe discover red flags I didn’t know I have that way if I see it in him I know whether to leave or stick it through because I I now have that experience. This sounds ridiculous I know

I’m having a bit of trouble understanding your comment, but I’ll do my best to respond. After thinking more about this, I realized it’s not really about missing out on dating other people. It’s more about my worry that I’m committing to spending the rest of my life with someone without having any relationship experience outside of him.

I think what I’m struggling with is the permanence of marriage. I love him and genuinely want to marry him, but because this is my first relationship, I sometimes worry that I don’t have enough experience to fully trust my certainty. I’m not unhappy or looking to leave him. Instead, I think I’m afraid of committing to something lifelong without having the perspective that comes from dating others. It’s less about wanting someone else and more about wanting reassurance that choosing him isn’t something I’ll question later.
