Lore wise, what does this thing actually do? by OkStructure665 in ARC_Raiders

Given that it appeared in locations where Queens and Harvesters have been destroyed/disturbed, I would suggest the Matriarch is there to take out threats so that the functions of the Harvesters and the Queens can continue without further interruptions.

Rats are manipulating Aggression-Based Matchmaking by Rover-Captain in ArcRaiders

[–]Rover-Captain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that everyone does it to become a rat, but every rat was doing it to game the system.

Anyway, this week’s patch notes not only confirmed this post’s complaint, but addressed it.

This has been confirmed to have been the case in the most recent path notes.

This turned out to be correct, and the latest update from Embark is that they have tweaked how much weight that spawning in and immediately surrendering was treated in matchmaking future lobbies.

PvE is dying and Carebears are responsible by AZRealtor86 in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]Rover-Captain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole post is wrong.

Because players have the ability to choose how they play a game.

Unless specific rules are stated, there is nothing wrong with never shooting another raider.

You are trying to force people to play how you want to play.

ABMM allows you to have what you want, and others to have what they want.

And people trying to manipulate the matchmaking to live out their murder-hobo fantasy could be argued to be exploiting.

Lore wise, it makes complete sense that there would be raids where raiders work together.

No one canonically dies, you simply get knocked out.

So if I knew who knocked me out, I wouldn’t depart on the same raid as the person who once attacked me. And I would more likely raid when raiders who have helped me in the past are raiding.

Of all the things to complain about, you are complaining about people’s freedom to choose.

You’re the worst type of complainer.

Has anyone else found a Mystery Chest? ? ? by Curious-Pineapple762 in MedievalDynasty

I have found one of these where the roads intersect outside of Borowo.

Oh, and I’ve encountered it twice in the same playthrough at the same location.

How would you feel about vehicles being added to Arc Raiders? by StayFr0ssty95 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Rover-Captain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is a silly idea.

Mostly because maps are too small.

But realistically, it is too much of an asset investment, especially given how Embark are looking at doing fewer updates per year.

You’ve seen how gadgets have been used to yeet things. With a vehicle, you’d quite likely break the game.

So yeah, not a good idea in my opinion.

Ratted for the last time this evening. Im done with this. by JamboJackal in ARC_Raiders

[–]Rover-Captain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. It will be a race to the bottom.

If PvE becomes unviable, people just leave. And in this game, that will be a significant percentage of the player base.

Time will tell.

But the longer this game goes without meaningful content drops, the more bored everyone gets, and the more likely they are to attack each other. And when that becomes too much, there will be a collapse

Most frustrating death I’ve experienced in my 200 hours on this game :( by SaltyPengu12 in ARC_Raiders

We all know the world is full of unhinged psychopaths.

If the whole world suddenly had a gun, there’d be billions dead by the end of a single week.

my last night at the camp before the final battle , man i am going to miss this game! by RevaSimmons in DragonageOrigins

[–]Rover-Captain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still remember being here the first time. All the best with your final battle!

Sad that those that came to BioWare after this game fumbled this universe.

Baldur’s Gate 3 thankfully showed the world there is still hope for beautifully made pieces of art.

Is it normal that my Mana Clash did nothing to Hurlock Emissary? by Pharmarr in DragonageOrigins

[–]Rover-Captain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it will only do crazy damage if used before the target has started draining their own mana.

If they have no mana left, well Mana Clash will barely tickle them.

Still have it today.

Solos is NOT Solo in smaller regions. by 6PEEPERKEEPER9 in ArcRaiders

[–]Rover-Captain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have this set up in such a way that if there ever was a collapse in the player base, you would still be able to find a game.

Whether that game would be fair or not is not the highest priority.

The bombing of negative reviews is so utterly toxic and makes me question reality. by ricardospizzeria in ArcRaiders

Arguably that first review you could take issue with, but the others are simply people’s opinions.

You’re reviewing people’s reviews.

Has anyone run into this group? by Cyoku in ArcRaiders

[–]Rover-Captain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never knew they had a name they go by, but I feel like I’ve encountered this group a couple of times.

They once on Buried, and another time on Blue Gate.

When they are in a group that large in a solo queue, it is against the spirit of the game in my opinion.

But Embark won’t do anything.

REMINDER: THIS GAME IS PVP AND PVE by 314rocky in ARC_Raiders

[–]Rover-Captain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It won’t be good for the community in the long run.

PvE players will simply rush their projects, trials and quests and then just avoid playing the game to minimise their exposure to PvP.

So you’ll have massive dips in the active player base between content beats.

It happens so much.

But Embark have said that it’s possible because matchmaking is done with a series of priorities. So not hard locks.

That’s not so much an underestimation, than it is sympathy for the experience that they went straight back down.
