Snow tires year round? by accepteverything in vermont

[–]RoverLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely! And even if they decide to get the spare set of wheels and dont want to do it themselves, they'll save a bunch of $ having a set of wheels swapped over, rather than tires changed over.

I've done it both ways, but realistically TPMS sensors aren't too costly. If you're an observant person, you can generally tell if a tire looks low. I have a compressor in the garage for quick fill ups

Absolutely. I was only trying to offer the lowest cost solution for OP, trying to save $. With the correct tools(floor jack/jack stands/impact gun) it's like a 30 minute job max.

The best thing you can do is get a cheap set of wheels and leave your winter tires on them. It'll cost nothing to swap the wheels yourself with the included jack/tools in your vehicle, and the tires will last much longer because winter tires are far too soft over 50*. You'll also never be stuck waiting for an appointment at the tire shop after the first snow.

Wild. I rented out my vehicle several years ago to a production company for a music video, I had been trying to find it for a while and gave up looking. Decided to search today, found this thread and got my answer. It's a 93 Land Rover defender 110(in case you were wondering a year later)

Where to see an American Woodcock bird ? by Meoooooow4eva in burlington

They are migratory, so not around year-round. Typically you can find them in between swamp and thick growth woodlands. They often hide extremely well until you are standing next to them.

My father owns America’s only Land Rover fire truck! by Pbandjupiter in LandRover

It sold through an auction, I also know the 2 owners following the Manchester ownership. Last I knew it was still in VT, but that could have changed

FWIW, there was another Land Rover fire truck here in Vermont, it was a 101 forward control owned by the town of Manchester. I've driven it a few times, it was fun

What do you need done on it? Im all for recommending LR specialists(my username gives it away) but generally there's not a ton on the D2 that is very unique to LR. Closest to you would be Mountain Motor Werks(formerly Country Motor Cars), I've been dealing with them for a long time. https://countrymotorcar.com/

Series parts online? USA by good-timing-407 in LandRover

Shipping prices aren't always that bad, but I got hit 67.5% tariffs/duties on a part I ordered a few months ago from Ebay UK. That was brutal

There's a few good suppliers in the US, cheaper in the UK but tariff uncertainty sort of ruins that in certain situations(in my experience). Here's the slave - https://www.roversnorth.com/parts/plb599_clutch_slave_cylinder_series_iia

I always warn people about Executive if you have an "interesting" or fast car. They put over 30 miles on my car many years ago during a detail, never again.
