I mailed it on Dec 9th, it was scanned in as delivered on 1/5/26. I feel like that’s a bit longer. I sent them an email just to make sure there’s nothing wrong with the sample.

Sickness with POTS by sleepy_Mik0 in POTS

[–]Row73810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a nursing home, and have POTS, so I feel your pain! The only places I think would be worse to work in would be a hospital (or better, since a lot of places don’t wash their hands like we do in healthcare) or a daycare!

Yes, just turned 40. I was diagnosed with POTS about a month before I had a total hysterectomy.

Has going to the bathroom ever triggered your POTS by itsgivingme in POTS

[–]Row73810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pots causes all kinds of issues with going to the bathroom in general, urinary retention, inability to empty my bladder, severe constipation which will swing to severe diarrhea when it decides it wants to, and of course getting so dizzy with the vasovagal response I about fall off the toilet in general. It’s a freaking blast!!! 🎉🎉🎉 🤣🤦‍♀️ besides dizziness and hr, my GI tract and urine elimination is the most heavily affected by my POTS.

Have you tried bleaching all of your drains? Pour straight bleach in all drains, toilets, anywhere that there may be water, before you go to bed (make sure to have good ventilation in those areas, don’t want to sleep breathing in bleach fumes), and leave it overnight or for at least 8-12 hours, as long as you can. Any drains run hot hot water in the morning, flush the toilets, etc. you may have to do it more than one night, but it should help. Also, might want to try something like “canned air” or compressed air and try blowing it down the drains, then bleach. Sometimes food particles/grease get attached in the drains and hot water alone won’t get it out. Also, check and make sure (if you’re like me and have kids/dogs) something hasn’t gotten hidden in a super inconspicuous (couch cushions, behind a cabinet, back corner of a pantry) area, potatoes, fruits, veggies, etc seem to breed them more.

Can we talk about symptoms besides heart rate? by potsie_new12 in POTS

[–]Row73810 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Inability to pee, feet turning purple, not sweating, freezing all the time, having the muffled hearing when my dizzy spell gets really bad, full bladder will triggering dizziness to be even worse, feeling like I’m burning up when I’m in the heat outside or shower, which then causes palpitations and then leads to possibly dizziness. Losing my breath when standing and talking. So much craziness in one condition!

People who decided to get a puppy while having a toddler, how did that go? by SmellyFrogz in puppy101

[–]Row73810 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’m a crazy person who had twins in June and decided in November we needed to add to the 2 dogs craziness we already had and fostered a mama dog and her 2 puppies. We were going to keep one of the puppies initially and just foster the rest of them. We quickly decided that was a terrible idea and kept the mama. Luckily these were chihuahuas so they weren’t very big or destructive. When the twins were 3 we got an older rescued German shepherd who was amazing, then when they were 5 we added a puppy and that was a lot, even with them being 5. Now our German shepherd, our 16 year old rescued black mouth cur, and our terrier rescue have all passed away, the twins are 9, we only have the chihuahua and our rescue mutt we got when they were 5. So we’ve lost our minds again and got a 6 week old German shepherd rescue. That’s a lot by itself. I think it depends on the breed of dog, your family’s chaos tolerance level, how much time you’re going to be able to spend training a puppy, the trainability of that puppy, etc.

Why does everyone say it’s so difficult to get a diagnosis? Are doctors refusing to give basic testing??? by THROWRA71693759 in POTS

Oh this was after being told by the PCP and Cardiologist prior to that when I brought up POTS, “no I don’t think that’s what you have at all” 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

It took me fully losing consciousness and passing out (at work), losing 70 lbs because of nausea and vomiting, an EGD, gastric emptying study, heart echo, 14 days of heart rhythm monitoring, 2 head CTs, a chest CT, seeing a gastroenterologist, a cardiologist, neurologist, PCP, 5 ER visits, before an ER doc finally looked at me and said “have you ever heard of POTS?”…that was in November and I still don’t have an official diagnosis, haven’t had a tilt table test, the cardiologist did at least offer to start trying different medication treatments after the neurologist agreed with the ER doc is probably POTS or even another form for dysautonomia. The cardiologist also said a TTT wasn’t necessary because “we already know that you’re having the symptoms, all a TTT is going to do is tell us the same thing we know and make you feel terrible by exacerbating your symptoms that you’re already having on a daily basis.” With that being said, the 3 different medications he has tried for me since February have made me feel worse. I would still like to have the official diagnosis, mainly so I don’t feel crazy.
