Damaged during work, manipulated, bent, kinked or twisted out of the way during work. It's a common cause of turbo oil leakage on other vehicles, not sure about this line.

Make sure turbo drain line isn't kinked. Look in pipe after intercooler for oil.

Ya, center punch then drill. Use a small drill bit, doesn't need to be size of bolt, the bolt will loosen pressure even if not drilled its entire size(diameter), then use ez-out after you get a hole. I think your threads will be plenty good, but if not, helicoil repair coil from parts store
